Question on axle ratios

Can anyone explain the benefits of the different axle ratio?

I am wondering how important this should be as I figure which options to get when configuring a special order Lariat 4x2 SCab.

Thanks much,

-dave

In simple terms:

A 3.55 Ratio will give you a little better highway fuel economy because the RPM's are lower.

A 3.73 Ratio will give you a little better acceleration as well as higher tow rating and towing performance.
