Got my 5.5 ft bed FX4Scab Yesterday!

Ordered 9/13, Built on 11/4, arrived at the dealer on 11/10, of course I was out of town for work when it got here.
It seems to be in tip-top order as far I can tell so far. it was raining when I got it so it is quite dirty for now. I'll post some pics as soon as I can get some good ones.
I stepped up from a '92 RangerXLT 4x2 so you can imagine how exited I am to have this one.
Only put 100 miles on it so far but I am very impressed with the way it drives. I expect I'll 'get a little mud on the tires' by tommorrow (credit to Brad Paisley for that quote).
I have a Leer tonnoeu cover on order and some new speakers to liven up the sound a bit.
i hope every one else gets theirs soon and has as good of a first experience as I have!

Congrats!

I'm sure you'll "get mud on the tires" soon. I can't wait to get mine up on the ranch. Have fun with the new truck!

Congrats!!! My FX4 SCAB was built on the same day but has not yet arrived. Should be here any day so I'm not complaining (yet). I know there are others who have waited much longer.

Enjoy!!!

Yes,, that sux. No rhyme or reason why some happen quick and others are a nightmare. Hope things go better. (Hope mine doesn't turn out to be a nightmare)

Question Confused

I've been reading posts about how long people wait to get their ordered trucks. QuikSlvr's truck took about 8 weeks order to delivery. Valhalla's took 5. Yet I keep reading posts from folks who are waiting 3 months. I've got 2 on order for my business and I expect to get VINs this week. I need them by the end of the year to get the tax write-off. My dealer said it usually takes 5-6 weeks.

My dealer showed me his allocation sheet. I ordered my trucks on Monday 11/3 but my dealer had 0 '04 F-150s allocated to him that week. So my official order date is Monday 11/10 (he had an allocation of 23 trucks). 6 weeks (which I think is at the limit of reasonable) puts me into Christmas week.

Does anyone have a clue as to why the time to delivery varies so much? Like the rest of you, I'm itchin' for my new truck. I'm confused as to why the process is so sketchy. Seems to me that the process should be pretty well defined and they would be able to provide custom trucks in a timely manner (and be able to meet the dates they advertise.
