New Daystar lift installed
Looks great! It's a nice amount of lift. Enough for the beefy look but not rediculous.
I'm curious to see if anyone has also lifted the back the same amount... It looks great with the front done and as much as I realize you would lose the squared up look with the rear done also, I just am curious to see how it will look. Has anyone also instally the Daystar on the rear as well as the front?
Cheers.

The Daystar kit was designed to shim the front strut towers lower by 2.5". The rear, however consists of independent shocks and leaf springs. To lift it would require additional leafs or blocks which are available as full lift kits (Skyjacker).

My Lariat 4x4 is on the way and I have some questions about the Daystar Lift.
1. Am I correct in thinking the lift only applies to the front susp?
2. How will it look running the factory 18" wheels and tires?
3. Can I install the kit myself?
I know the front needs somthing to get the truck sitting level (which is what I want) but will it look "funny" with factory 18" wheels and tires?

Squeaker,
I installed the lift myself and have the 18" wheels with the GY tires. I have before/after pics in the "Mods to Date" gallery. The Window tint side view is a before and there is one labeled "After Daystar Installation". I also have a gallery dedicated to the installation.
Note, you will need a heavy duty coil compressor to rebuilt the struts. I went to a local shop as opposed to risking an accident with my low-end compressor.
Installation should cost you no more than $150. Daystar says the installation take 90 minutes, but I've yet to hear of anyone doing it less than three hours.

technically you can buy the blockes seperately from the whoel kit, but you need the rest of the kit to make the suspension work properly. it's like saying "i thought you could buy the wheels seperate from the tires." sure, it's true, but it won't do you much good on its own. you need to beef up the other suspension components in the rear if you want to lift it. new leaf pack may not be absolutely necessary, but it is a good idea. new shocks are pretty much a must since you would be increasing the travel a lot.

and put some eagle alloys with big tires on there!
