Angry Front brake Pad Dust on F150

Hi -

Has anyone out there had the same trouble with excessive front brake dust on their F150's? MY '04 FX4 ,4X4 leaves dust on the front so bad, after a few days the white letters on the tires are all discolored along with the wheels darkened. Of course, the pads on the '04 truck are not the same as the earlier models, so no one has any aftermarket 'dust free' pads available yet. I realize that brake dust is evident, but this is ridiculous! You would have thought that Ford would have come up with a better pad material considering this was a new model . So much for 'world class' I guess. Anyone else out there see the same issue? thanks

There have been some threads about this already:

I took delivery of my Lariat 4x4 on October 30. When I washed/waxed it last weekend, I made sure to apply tire dressing and some protectant on the wheels (I used 2 coats of Zaino Z5). There was a lot of brake dust from the past week, but it came off very easily when I washed the truck today (we had a high temp of 40 today...that water was COLD). I'm hoping that the amount of dust lessens, but my '97 XLT SCab always had a lot of brake dust on the front wheels, too.

The excessive dust goes away after break in. It took me about 500 miles or so. Now there's hardly any dust...

I have 4700 miles on my lariat and still have a ridiculous amount of brake dust on the front wheels. I will be looking into better brake pads soon.
