QUESTION:

I ordered the snapless cover from www.fordaccessories.com which is the same cover that has been previously installed as a factory item on the trucks. At www.fordpartsnetwork.com though, they have the Ford snapless cover with "Ford Oval." What does this mean? Does it have FORD graphics on it? Anyone have any ideas?

Had a Leer XL cap on my 98 150. When I purchased my 04 extended cab, I wanted the flexibility of an open bed this time around. I floundered for a week between hard and soft. I went with the Access as well. Most versatile of what I physically tested. Leer 700, too complicated (mechanisms easily mis-aligned. I know, I had one). 1-piece and folding tops just became too cumbersome. I own a construction company, and need to be very flexible by the day. Just my opinion.

I just had an Access Cover installed on my '04 S-Cab. Local Line-X dealer installed at the same time when I have the liner put in. It looks awesome in my opinion! The cover is tight as a drum VERY easy to use. I will take some pics in the next couple days and post them.

I did some checking on this matter. Ford’s documentation provided to fordpartsnetwork.com says the 04 snap and snapless tonneu covers include the Ford oval. However, the Ford cover ~~~^~~~ purchased for his 04 did not have the Ford oval. I contacted fordpartsnetwork.com & provided the part number of the cover ~~~^~~~~ purchased – it was the same part number as the snap cover they sell and that their documentation says includes the Ford oval. I asked if they could physically look at one and I was told they drop ship the covers so they did not actually have any at their location. Do not know if ~~~^~~~’s was an early version that did not have the Ford oval or that the documentation stating the covers have the Ford oval is not correct. I guess we will not know until someone orders one & reports back to this board.

Hey Scottinssmd and Madcitymadman,
I'm thinking of getting the Access cover for my Screw.
Which model did you get?
Do you have any pics?
And does it cover the bed rail protectors or just part? The website shows a 03 Screw and it looks like it only covers half the protector. Looks wierd, like it's not wide enough. Is this just me or the way there picture is?
Thanks for your info

I talked to my brother last night (hes a ford parts guy) he is going to order one for me today. It will come from the parts warehouse right to him, I can get it cheaper this way. When he gets it I'll have him open it and see what it looks like. I will take pics and post them but im not too confident I will have my truck any time soon. I just have that bad feeling. Its been in shipping for over 2 weeks now.

Anxiously awaiting feedback on what is delivered. Please provide the part number as well as the size bed you are placing the cover on.

Thanks, Screwdriver

I, officially, have the Lite Rider soft cover.

http://www.literider.com/

This system installs within the bedrails and up against the bed rail protectors. The system has thumb-turn adjustments for weather changes and expansion. I went with it because of the versatility to be able to protect products, or open for total use of the bed. I used to run the job sites and the lumber runs daily. I have since become a paper pusher for my company. My insurance agent also advised me to get out of the field. NEVER.

I will be photographing my 04 F150, 00 Denali, and 03 SVT 10th Anniversay Cobra convertible this weekend for various photo galleries. If you want to see the snake, just ask.

How are the Ford snapless bed covers for keeping out rain and snow? Is the Ford bed cover with snap just as good? What about the access cover, does that keep out rain and snow?

Thanks

I got the literider as well on my 04 screw a few weeks ago. I had it installed the same time I got linex sprayed on. So far so good. On my last screw I got the snapon one from Ford. That worked well too, but unsnapping and resnapping was a pain if you needed to load something quickly. And I always had trouble in the cold. This one opens and closes extremely fast.

One caveat though. Because it installes inside the bed, and not on the rails, if you use a bed extender, you will not be able to rotate the bed extender from inside the bed to outside the bed because it hits the tonneau rail. You have the unlatch the extender, remove it and reattach on the bed door. Not too much of a pain, just pointing it out. I didn't think of that when I ordered it.

Has the Ford tonneau come in yet? Does it have the Ford oval or not?

Thanks, Screwdrive
