Replacement fuel filler door

Yes, this is from Dodge (Mopar)...

But I think something like this fuel filler door would look good on the new F-150. I'm wanting to get the shadow gray and think a fuel filler door like this would look really sharp on the truck...along with replacing the plastic fuel filler door.

Does anyone know of any dealers that sell aftermarket fuel filler doors? Or is there even a possibility that the one in the pic above could be placed on the F-150?

Cheers.

Westin makes a billet aluminum fuel filler door just like the one in your picture. I haven't checked to see if they got around to making one for the 2004 F-150 yet but I was thinking about getting one also.

Their website is www.westinautomotive.com if you want to check it out.

Very cool looking

Right now they only list parts for 03' F150's, and nothing for Screws at all.

Can someone verify if pre-2004 fuel filler doors will fit? I have one on my 2001 that I would like to keep.

How do you install these? Do you have to do any drilling?

Thanks for the link, Red2004FX4! I'll bookmark that one and keep an eye on it. Seems like it will only be a matter of time before they offer one for the '04.

Cheers.

That fuel door is made by a company called AMP Research. Ford uses them as a supplier for the Mustang Bullitt fuel door that comes from the factory.

www.amp-research.com/store/fueldoor.htm

The do have a door availiable for the F-150 but not the 04 MY.

I have the Mustang door installed on my SVT Focus and it did require a bit of modification. I had to drill a couple holes in the sheet metal for the screws to pass thru. The quality of the door is awesome. When I get my FX4 I'll definatly be installing one of these on it... hopefully by then they will have a model that fits the 04.

It might be a possibility to use the F-150 door on the 04 as long as the door diameter was the same but it might require some garage engineering. Or you could just be patient...

edit: fixed link
