What's the first mod you would/did do with your truck for under $500. I'm thinking some kind of bed liner, GPS, alarm system, or maybe an AirForce1.

The ARE LS-II is a body colored fibergalss hard tonneau cover for the bed that is flat and only sticks up a couple of inches over the bed rails. It is water proof.

With a $500 limit, it's mostly a choice of:

Line-X or similar, nerf bars, bug shield, billet or other grill (e.g. Street Scene), bed liner/rug, upgraded speakers, brush guard, etc., etc. So far, there's no availability of intake systems, e.g. FIPK.

 

Running boards = ? (dealer threw them in as part of the deal)

Penda liner = $260

Ford F150 bug guard = $70

Window tint = $85

Retrax tonneau = $770

Gonna also get some nice floor mats & some window vent shades.

Next spring we will do the exhaust.

 

I put new bfg 285/70/17's on which after trading in my stock tires came to just over $500. and I just put in the new daystar 2.5 inch front end lift which after the buying it and putting it in and putting a new alignment in came to arround $300 or so. my next mod will probably be a spray in bed liner and tinted windows.

 

Hey Jasonkola, they tires look sweet! I installed the same ones. Do you have a pic of the truck with the Daystar yet? I'm seriously considering it myself. I didn't see one in your gallery.

 

not yet I will try to get some this weekend. I really like the way it looks with that lift in. the ride hasn't really changed that I can tell. not only will you notice the look from the outside but you will notice a differance the minut you get the front seat the hood is more up and you seem to be looking more streight outward instead of downward out the front windshield as it always seemed to me before. also it just feels more like a big lifted pickupthan before and I didn't have to really lift it too much. I will post some pics as soon as I can.

Hey Jason. How is the rear view with the lift installed? Did it make it easier to see past the tail gate?

 

Hey Jason,,, that's my truck. Well the one I have on order that should arrive in a couple of weeks (build date was today). The main diff I can see is I went with the 18" wheels/tires.

Yours looks awesome though. I've stretched myself with this purchase so I'm not going to be able to do to many mods. My tires/wheels are it for a while.

Would luv to do the daystar lift. Look forward to seeing your pics.

the rear view is a little better but not a improved as I had hoped. good enough for me though. I guess with a big truck it is just hard to see those little cars when they are right up behind you.
