Heated seats install on FX4?

Does anyone know if the Lariat heated seat option can be installed on an FX4. I was thinking that the wiring is probably already there, as Ford wouldn't wan't to have a ton of different wiring harnesses depending on options. If this is true, I would think the heating elements and the dash switches would be all that is needed. Are the heating elements pretty pricey? I wish Ford would have just offered this as a factory installed option.

I agree....

It does not make sense to offer a vehicle in this price range with a Leather Seating Option, and not have the Option of Heating those cold seats.....

What were they thinkin? "Folks who buy FX4's don't get cold buns!!!???"

Where's the logic in not offering it as an Option? Anyone?

How annoying....

I already have plans to put Custom Leather w/heat because of this.....

I don't know about factory wiring but I put them in my 2001 Ram.
I went to an upolstery shop and bought two aftermarket heated seat kits. The install on the Dodge was easy. Most newer seat covers come off the frame no problem. Look at the bottom of the seat back, you should see a zipper or a plastic folded flap and it comes off like a shirt. The bottom should unbolt from the frame and the skin will come off easy. The wiring was simple, just a power, a ground and the switches. I put mine on the side of each seat by the power switches.
Also do a search online for the kits, I've seen them there too.
I paid about $100 each and put them in my self.
Nothing like a nice warm a$$ on the way to work!!

Yea not having the heated seats with the leather really blows especially since it's gonna start gettin cold around here real quick. That was a ****ty decision on Fords part not to offer it on the FX4 and the only thing I can think of that pisses me off about my truck. I'm going to do the aftermarket heated install if the switches for it aren't butt *** ugly and actually appear like they came with the truck.

The heated seat option on Lariat requires auto temp control
witch is only available on the Lariat. It also comes with memory
for seat and adjustable pedals.

Beter off with aftermarket for cost.

Thanks for all the replies. I went to the dealer today to ask about heated seats. The truck manager gave me a card for a local install guy that supposedly does a great job on heated seat installs. He said cost would be around $200-300. I would have gladly paid Ford this much to install this option at the factory.

I will try to post some more pictures of my truck, but unfortunately it is dark when I get home from work. I can take some more pictures in the garage, but the sunlight would be better.

P.S. - How do I make that little picture of my truck show up at the bottom of my posts with a link to my gallery? (Never mind, I figured it out. )

Heated seats

The dealer put heated seats into my FX4 SCrew for an additional fee. They work great and the buttons look as if they belong.

The Buttons are located directly above the Shifter (floor console)

Still waiting on PICS! Or did you mean that the dealer put the button where it is on the Lariat up above the ash tray? Thanks
