Question BIGMACFX4 and XCR440SP

I talked with the sales manager I'm dealing with and he said that he didn't have my VIN number in front of him (he's gonna call me with it Monday), but that he knew my build date was going to be 11/24. I guess he called the fleet guy who does his ordering and got that info from him.

I was a little worried because I hadn't heard of anybody's build being scheduled that far in advance. Is this normal? The people at the dealer have been great so far, but I'm a little worried that the guy is throwing me a bone so I won't call him for a few weeks. What do you think?

No, that date sounds about right for orders just scheduled. I've got units scheduled for that week.

I ordered on 10/10. I'm guessing mid-December now. Hopefully sooner, I live near some pretty big dealerships, so their shouldn't be too many hold ups on shipping (fingers crossed and knocking on wood).

I orderd my truck on 10/11. I ordered a XLT Screw. I'm on the East coast in NJ. I hope to get by mid december. I'm thinking about calling my dealer on monday he should have a vin number since you have a vin number.

Just a little input.. I placed my order on 10-13-03 and I received a call from my dealer on 10-28-03 that I had a build date of 11-17-03 but he didn't think he had a vin for me yet..

Ordered: Red FX4 Two-Tone 18" wheels LT tires
No: running boards

You're happy
You probably have a dealer with a high alotment, and that assigned you a low priority. I know the dealer assigned me a low priority, but I'm thinking his alotment is probably pretty small. He only has 6 04's on the lot, and they aren't selling. Since I didn't order LT tires, running boards, or 2-tone, I'm thinking alotment has to be behind the timeframe for building my truck (~8 weeks to deliver at this point). I'm not pissed off, some people have waited a lot longer.

I called back for my VIN today, and a different sales manager (the one I ordered with) says my truck is still unscheduled!!!!! Arrghhh just as I thought. The first guy was blowing smoke up my ***.....
Anyway, the guy I spoke with today lowered my priority so it would get built before anything else. He said it should definately get scheduled this week since their are no holds on it. Maybe I'll get an earlier build date out of it(?) Just as I thought, the manager said he thought the delay was due to allocation.....I wish I could get the kind of deal I'm getting from a larger dealer, these guys are getting nothing from Ford.

No News !

I ordered a scab FX4 loaded on 10/8. I call or e-mail my dealer at the end of each week. Always get the same answer. "No News yet". The last time I talked with the sales manager. He blew smoke up my butt for about 15 minutes on the phone, but the results were the same. He said they would put a priority on it. That's a crock at this point they all have a priority on them. I guess the good news is it's only been a month on Weds. of this week. I would still feel better if I had a build date.

oh well,

just have to suck it up
