Seat belt and door locks

I can not get the seat belt alarm and the automatic door locks to turn of. I did what the book said to do about 6 times and it is still on. Has anyone had this problem.

It takes a little practice. You have to follow the directions exactly.

Good Luck

that's probably a sign that you should not be turning them off, especially the seatbelt warning.

That is pretty much Fords intent. If you can't figure it out, you really should be wearing a seatbelt. From what I understand, if you fail to properly execute the disable procedure a certain number of times, the Chime actually gets louder.

It's in this month's Readers Digest. Look in the index under Seatbelts.

In some instances you might not be comfortable wearing your seatbelt..Ex. in the woods working down logging trails driving under 10mph getting in and out of truck.. You can simply buckle the belt behind you and sit in the seat.

Meeting Room C, Ford Headquarters, Dearborn MI.

Regional Rep "Owners want a way to disable the seatbelt chime"

Ford Lawyer "No way in Hell!"

Regional Rep "They are tearing apart wires on vehicles under warranty and we have a cost associated with this issue."

Ford Lawyer "OK but, make the 'Disable' so damn complicated they are literally in tears when they're done. I want absolutely Zero possibilty this 'Disable' occurs by accident."

Regional Rep "Good, where do we print the instructions?"

Ford Lawyer "Instructions? You idiot! OK, OK, put them in the 'Reader's Digest' but only once a year and don't tell them which month."

"Now get out. And send in the guy who put the big emblem on the tailgate!"

I got my Lariat's seatbelt chimes and doorlooks diabled by following the exact method described in the owner's manual. It is an odd procedure that involves bucking and unbuckling the seatbelt a certain number of times within a certain specified period. Check your manual.

On my late great 03 XLT I was able to get rid of the seat belt chime by simply disconnecting the molex connector under the driver's seat.

Angry rear door locks

any method yet to allow rear passengers to get out without me unlocking them? Flipping the child lever does not work. (SuperCrew)
