Angry *******ing Shopping cart

I took delievery of a 2004 FX4 Supercrew in mid September and have 2500 miles on it. I had the vehicle undercoated and the paint sealed two weeks ago and have been enjoying showing it off to everyone at the local home depot and others whom just needed to get an owners opinion.

This past Friday driving down the highway I see a gravel train about ten cars ahead, so I pulled to the farthest lane I could to pass it. As I am passing the gravel train it hits a pot hole and spews gravel all over the road. Then I heard a small stone hit the windshield and at the time I thought it was fine untill I took it to the wash. Friggen windshield is now cracked. I was so pissed.

And Now:

Today I went to OfficeMax to grab some Inkjet paper. I parked my truck at the end of the parking lot miles away from any other cars. Upon returning to my truck I could not believe my eyes. I now have a friggen dent in the side of the rear drivers door. I grabbed a shopping cart and put it up next to it and sure enough thats what caused it.
I then went inside and raised hell with the manager. I told her that there was an employee in the parking lot when I came into the store and I wanted to speak with him. She said Blah,blah,blah we are not responseable for cart damage blah,blah. Well I found out that employee noticed a cart resting on the side of my truck and took it back in the store.

No cart corral, very steep slopping parking lots= damage vehicles

I hate careless lazy a**holes !

I alway's go out of my way to take good care of my sh*t but this pisses me off. Hopefully this Friday the dealerships PDR man can get the dent out.

I need to look at some aftermarket Body molding! If anyone has any supplier info please post.

Thanks

Always park at the other end of the parking lot, aka employee parking except you're not an employee.

The manager is wrong. Write a letter asking for them to forward your claim for damages to their insurer. If the first level insurance claims person gives you the run around, go over their head to the claims manager.

Damage due to shopping carts can be forseen by the operator of the business. You are an "invitee" and the store owes you the "highest duty of care." The reason an employee is in the parking lot to begin with is to recover the carts - obviously this person's responsibility was not properly accomplished.

Go get estimates and go after the jerks. Do not forget to request "diminution in value" since your vehicle will have been painted and any buyer for your truck would prefer an un-repaired example in the used marketplace.

This should settle in the range of $1,200. I hope a paintless dent repair solution can repair your truck without painting.

I really hope you follow up on this because the problem will not be fixed without your action and others of us will suffer similar damages. If you are in Georgia, let me know and I will assist you.

~~~^~~~, former claims manager
I'm gonna surround my new truck with velvet ropes whenever I park.
