not too many problems yet...

I have noticed very few comments about problems / bugs with the '04's. Actually only one, something about ticking. I would have expected more with the number of trucks that have rolled out already. I think they are having a very good release. If there had been many problems they would be all over these boards by now.

there are lots of problems, from ticking, to tranny's going, to vibration and wobbeling. then theres power issues. only 3 year warrenty isn't good (compared to competitors 7) cheap "leather" , tailgate bouncing when down, outside temp gauge.... etc etc...

I have the same ticking on mine. The Ford folks said it was the fuel lines being wider. My personal mechanic agreed and said that they needed to install an accumulator as they did in BMW when they first used larger lines. All agree that it is not within the engine, but when I changed the oil and first heard the startup, it sounded awful. I have had 4 F-150's since 97 and never heard this sound

Here's another one for the list of '04 problems...my Screw came through missing the emergency brake pedal rubber pad.

Hey! Just thought I'd mention it.

The rest of the truck is FLAWLESS.

No major problems here either...just one small paint imperfection (that i've noticied so far) and some minor quality issues I have with the truck. I think being that this is a BRAND NEW model and being that i've been kind of paranoid about buying a first year model, every little sound or vibration I hear/feel I think is a potential problem. I just kind of taken the mentality of...turn up the volume and wait for obvious problems...I figured what the hell...I've got a 3 year bumper to bumper plus a 6 year 100,000 mile premium care Ford warranty to figure it all out.

Really tranny's going? I hadn't heard that. I think a lot of the vibration and wobbeling people get is just due to the fact that virtually all new cars are pretty far out of alignment when you get them. I'm getting my alignment checked first thing. As for the tailgate bouncing, I don't think they design trucks to be driven with the tailgate down......
