Receiver holes (tow hitch)

Anyone else have any trouble getting a 5/8" pin through the holes on the hitch?...Went to pick my trailer up tonight and my pin would only fit through the holes on the passenger side...holes on the driver side were a teeny tiny bit too small....I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow.

The pin holes were ok on mine but they are alot shallower than before. I put the pin through and you can see where the marks from my previous truck are about 2 inches out from the end of the receiver.

Just tried mine. Can't get the pin through, 2nd hole to small on both front and back holes as reported above. Has any one brought your truck back to the dealer for this and what was the out come?

Mine seems to be OK

just checked mine after reading this thread, and everything works as it's supposed to. Both sides are fine.

I just checked mine. Receiver fits fine, forward most hole on the driver's side was too small. It had a little extra powdercoat or paint around the perimeter. I took the receiver and gently tapped the pin one time and it slid right through, now it slides in and out perfectly. My guess is your dealer will do about the same thing unless the actual hole is too small, then they will probably just use a 5/8" drill bit to "resize" it.

I couldn't get my draw bar into the hitch. the same drawbar that was wobbly on my 01 screw. It only slid in partially.

i finally got the pursuader out. one wham to the left, a serious bump to the right, one hard upper cut. and a final blow to the top
of the ball

she slides in and out just fine now

I wonder if too much powdercoat or what?????

I was in a hurry, therefore, I did not put much time into it, but I had exactly the same problem. I was just installing the receiver to give me something to hook my tow strap so I could pull/move my broken down Jeep a little. I feel a little knock with the hammer should knock the pin on through the drivers side hole.

I noticed (way back when I had this problem) that there were some small "burrs" in the pin holes....filed those down and now its good to go...

Took a hammer to it a few times. Now it goes in within any problems. Thanks
