Excietment lost?

Has anyone else lost the excitement of reading the forum after you have your VIN information, but before your truck has arrived?

Now that I know when it's going to be built, I'm in sort of a holding pattern. There's nothing to get excited about, until I get the truck. Before I had my VIN info, I was in a state of anticipation. Now it's like, let's get a move on it.

I see what you're saying. But just wait until you KNOW when your truck is going to be here. OMG!! I KNOW it's coming on Friday, but these past 3 days have been hell. The longest 3 days of my life.

Guigster!

No excitement lost here. I got my truck (SCrew Lariat 4X2, White Monotone). I STILL read the messages 3 to 5 times a day (at least). I just wish I could take some time off to enjoy it! I got my Line-X yesterday (AWSOME) and my ARE LS-II yesterday as well. I will try to post as soon as I can borrow one of the digital cameras from the Lab. Hold in there man, the LAST FEW DAYS ARE THE WORSE!!! Take it from me.........LOL.......... this ole man does NOT GET THIS EXCITED VERY OFTEN.

Actually I am losing my excitement for the whole truck itself. At first when I only saw pictures the anticipation was highest.

Then I saw these trucks up close and on the road and the anticipation was lowered a little.

Now that I see them more and more to be honest with you I am not excited about this truck. Its a solid advancement and that is a good thing.
But it is not as exciting a breakthrough as it is hyped up to be.

Then when you shop and look at prices the reality really sets in that the bump in prices is really capitalizing on the hyped excitement, which is surely subsiding, and those price bumps will get softer for this vehicle which is basically the generally EXPECTED evolution, nothing more or less. It is basically "meeting" the things you would expect, but certainly not "exceeding" my expectations.

Try pricing out a new 2004 Z71...then you will get more hyped about the F-150. Similarly equipped the F-150 is several grand less.

I've had my truck for a Month now and I'm STILL excited about it. I find myself looking at it in the driveway all the time. Yesterday I sat in the passenger seat reading the owners manual while my 2 year old boy sat in the driver's seat. You should have seen the look in HIS eyes!

I seriously think if I was a Millionaire, I'd still pick this truck as my daily driver! I may have opted for the leather though...

Sorry, but I LOVE MY TRUCK.

This is my 3rd F-150 in 20 years, AND I LOVE IT. I have taken my truck around to different installers getting my Line-X, ARE LS-II Tonneau, etc. and EVERYONE WHO sees my truck is VERY impressed. These are people who see ALL makes of trucks everyday and all of them have expressed the sentiment that the redesign is nothing short of AWSOME. I had one vendor (one who sells NOTHING but truck add-ons) take several pictures of mine to help sell acessories. This 50 yo man is VERY pleased with his purchase, and amost a year of research and waiting for the new model has been worth it. The ONLY thing so far that I would have changed is that there is NO fender well liner in the rear (SCrew Lariat 4X2).

I think they are saving the real breakthroughs for the 2010. Check this out

I don't know, that 2010 model looks a little cramped. I'm hoping my SCAB has more rear seat room for my two kids and dog.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I have lost excitement for the truck. I said my forum excitement between VIN info and truck arrival has diminished. Now that I know the schedule specifics, I don't have anything to get excieted about when I click open the forum. Up until I got my info, I got excited every day to find out something new on scheduling, just knowing it was getting closer to being built.

I'm still extremely excited about the truck. Again I went to a dealer last night to just look at the other trucks on the lot. The cabs were all locked, so I spent about 15 minutes opening and closing tailgates. Didn't want to ask for a key, because then I'd have to talk to someone. I just wanted some "me time."

And for those of you who are not excited about the truck itself, I don't know why. I guess everyone has their own tastes. But I look at the Chevys and GMCs, and just think about how happy I am about getting the Ford. I think it is a really sharp looking truck. Much bolder than the others. Dodge might have a better option with four full doors and a 6.5 bed, but...it's a Dodge.

Isn't the Dodge basically an extended cab with 4 doors? Not the same thing as a full 4 passenger Screw...

Well I think it is bigger, becuase I actually fit in the back. I'm 6'4" and I don't fit in the back of a Ford SCab.

I'm referring to the Super Crew Cab Ford, not the extended cab. It's a lot bigger than the 4 door Dodge.

I thought the dodge quad cab also shortened the bed to 6'-3" to achieve the leg room. Plus that B-pillar gets in the way when you load child seats etc.
