Seating

For those of you who currently own a new 2004 F150 with the Flow thru Console and Bucket seat, I have a question. The drivers seat, which I'm in most of the time. I have began to notice that the bolstering section of the left side of the seating section is making my left leg and left side of my back hurt in any drive over 30-40 min. It seem to be to high up and or to firm. It could just be my old age but I thought I would pose the question to the rest of the owners. I may have to have something done with the seat to ease the pain i'm noticeing.

I hane not had any pain or anything, but I do wish the armrest were about an inch or so higher in relation to the seat.

I noticed the same thing (no real armrest) when I sat in the bucket seated XLT with the big storage bin in the middle.

Can somebody clarify Bucket seats vs Captains Chairs.

In the 04 brochure it mentions the 40/20/40 and the Captains Chairs, but if I remember correctly, the window sticker refers to Bucket seats.

Whatever they are, they aren't captain chairs. There is no arm support at all towards the middle of the truck. Atleast the 40/30/40 has the storage area that works as a good arm rest.

I know in the "Cheap Seats" thread, there was mention of adding third party seats being a decent option. I would agree after sitting in the buckets.

Now if a guy could order a truck without seats and add some better seats. As it stands, I would buy the 40/20/40 for sure, the only benefit of the other option is the large storage bin in the middle.

I also noticed the Chevy LT trim has nice armrests that you can pull of the seat if you want.

They say they're "captain's chairs", but IMO and definition... CAPTAIN'S CHAIRS should have armrest(s) in the seats. BUCKETS should have no armrest(s) in the seats. I have the "captain's chairs" and have to use the center console or the door as an armrest.... I'd prefer integrated armrests in the seats, but what can a fella do?

I never even noticed this when I ordered my truck. I'm going to miss this. My soon to be ex-truck has captain's chairs with a very nice armrest.

I'm sure I would have ordered these seats anyway (FX4 w/captains & flowthrough) but it is kind of disappointing.

Hopefully the center counsel will suffice.
