Well, I've had my 4X4 SCREW a week, and it is pulling somewhat to the right. Not super noticeable, in fact I thought it was wind at first.
So my question is: Do I take it back to dealer and have them check it out, or live with it?

yeah, i feel that in mine too. i've had it for 13 days. i think i'll take it in too.

 

Try this before you take it back. On a four lane road straight and relatively level (or a two lane road with no traffic obviously) get in the fast/oncoming lane. It will likely pull to the left. If it does its not an alignment problem but a roadway design condition. Roadways have crowns to cause water run off. You have it with all vehicles you just probably have noticed it with yours. Worth a check before you go fussing back to the dealer. If you do this and its still pulls to the right you definately have an alignment problem.

 

Thanks for the tip Mecheng. I've paid attention to the slope of the roads and it still pulls right. I was on 4 lane highway, left lane, 70 mph, and still slight pull to right. It's more obvious when in the right lane, where the slope runs toward shoulder. But it seems that the right pull is always present to some degree.

I believe I'll call tomorrow and get a time setup to get it checked out.

A mechanic that I've taken my wife's car to told me that virtually all new cars are way out of alignment. He said the first thing he does when he buys a new car is get the tires balanced and alignment checked. Then he sold me free alignments for life for $100.

I'll be visiting him for my first free one sometime in Dec with my new FX4

 

um, if he SOLD you alignments for $100, I wouldn't exactly call that free...

 

What he sold him was the OPPORTUNITY to get free alignments for life.

 

I had this same problem on my '04 screw.
I also had a slight vibration in my steering
wheel at about 50 mph. I took it back and
they rebalanced the wheels and evened up
the tire pressure in each wheel. One happened
to be lower in each tire which was causing the
pulling. One of the tires were out of balance
causing the vibration.

 

Got it back tonight. Right side was out of allignment. They re-alligned and everything seems fine now.

My dealer actually mentioned this to me when he was reviewing the truck after I bought it. He said the trucks come designed to be driven on flat roads, but out here in california our roads angle to the right, so he said some people notice it, some dont. If it bothers you bring it in and we will fix it right up no problem.
