Two tone F150s

Well, I go by the dealership where I ordered my truck about a month and a half ago now and of course I still don´t have a vin since the two tones are still largely delayed. It seems that the dealership has had so much interest in the two tone trucks that they are adding the two tone at the dealership in the bodyshop to monotone trucks. A friend of mine graduated a few years ago and works for Ford in Detroit. I call him and ask about the F150 since he was on the project and he tells me that they have "quality control issues with the painting process" for the two tones and also a problem with the Rangers at present. All I can say is I hope that they get it resolved soon and I sure wouldn´t want some bozo at the dealership "making" my truck a two tone.

That's interesting and believable. I just took possession of my two tone and I have it in the body shop at the dealer to repair what appears to be a factory ding that was not repaired properly at the factory. I forgot to mention in my other thread that there was also a spot on the beige trim where it was missing paint...it looks as if there was masking tape on it when it went through the paint process. Very strange...I'm sure they're still ironing out the bugs in their manufacturing process...

I wonder why the problem with the two tone mfg process. Its not like Ford has never done it before. On my truck It looks like the paint is missing at the bottom edge of the drivers door. It looks like bare metal where the outside Arizona Beige should meet the inside Toreador Red. I will have it checked out when I take it in for my first service and reprogam for the temp sensor problem.
