Surius radio possiblity?
Surius radio possiblity?
I was at Best buy the other day and saw a VERY tiny surius sat. radio tuner. I looked small enough that if you removed the ashtray, it could be installed behind the stock ashtray plate in the center dash. You could just push the dash as if you wanted the ash tray and you would see the radio tuner facing up at you. How cool would that be. I want sat. radio but I don't like the way the XM rodie sticks out so much, I want it hidden and still easily accessible. Thoughts?
edit: best buy doesn't have any pics of it on their website yet.

I have the Panasonic sirius tuner in my Explorer. It is small and really easy to use. It is also black in color so it matches a lot of the interior trim work. Not available at Best Buy, but Crutchfield carries it.
I am leaning toward the Audiovox portable unit for my F150. It's a little larger but you can use it in the truck or in the house (with the proper mounting kits). Just think that when I am paying for two subscriptions, I'd like to be able to use it both places. I am waiting till my dealer gets his shop manualsso I can figure out how to connect it through the Aux input on my radio. I use a FM modulator with the one in the Explorer and would rather have a direct connection.

I was gonna try the xm roady in my overhead console, either where the sun glasses go or the other compartment, for the garage door opener.....do you think it would fit in either of thes places???
Thanks for the advice........

the thing I saw was about 3/4 the size of the roadie. Mounting it in the overhead bin would take a little bit more wiring. I havn't seen the actual size of the overhead bins so I can't say for sure.
OK, thanks....I guess I'll have to go to the store and see if they will let me take one out to the truck to get an idea on the size. Next time I go thru Ellicott City, I'll honk and
