Speaking of Tires

Why is Ford putting 18" P275's on this truck instead of LT's. Isn't a P designation still a passenger car tire?????? Or am I misinformed???????

P tire is standard on Lariat made by B. F. Goodrich L.T. is optional for more money and is required if you want skid plates

I got P's at "No Charge" on the FX4, and this truck comes standard with the Skid Plate.

P-rated tires have been on F-150's forever. In 99, they used an LT tire with the Off Road Package, then made the LT tires a stand alone option for 2000+ (including 2004) models. Like Perception said, easy money. Ford charges $300 for the upgrade tires. Do you really think it costs Ford an extra $300 for the difference between the two?

Besides, a lot of people don't even care what tires they have.
