What did you get out of to get in the '04 and how much did your insurance go up? I'm expecting delivery this Friday and checked my insurance today and was told 177.00 more per 6 months. Ouch!!!!! I'm getting our of a '03 F-250 XLT 2wd.

Is that an increase over what you were paying on your previous vehicle or is that the total for 6 months. I got hit with a total of $309.00 for 6 months in the Bay Area.

Mine goes up about $150 per 6 months and my coverage is a little less. I think in 6 months I am going to up the coverage and get a better policy. I was stupid and I did it quick just so I could take the truck home.

Be glad you guys don't live in LA!

Keep in mind that I have NO accidents and NO tickets on my record and the lowest quote I received was $640.00 every six months for my new truck. After 22 years with State Farm the best they could offer was $850.00 every six months. Needless to say I am no longer with them! Anyway, our rates are probably the highest in the country and it really pisses me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So , before you guys complain too much just remember me :-)

I'm feeling the pain also.....
it was $ 335 every 6 months ... now $ 505 every 6 months
I know my old truck was a '97, ..... but this is rediculous....

Needless to say I'm in the market for a new insurance carrier.

yeah, switched from AAA to Mercury. AAA offered $1250 every six months and Mercury offered $521 every six months. I have no accidents and no tickets. When I called AAA to see if it was a mistake they said, "Well with us you get better service." I laughed and said, "your service ain't worth $1400 a year." He didn't like that too much...

And how come it is with my 2001 F150 that I paid 30k for 2.5 years ago my insurance has not gone down even though the truck is worth half of what I paid for it. Sounds like fuzzy math to me.

Insurance is a big racket!

Santa Barbara insurance rates

I have an '01 XLT, perfect driving record, no claims in last 10 years, $100K/$300K, $500 deductible, and I pay $359 / 6 months with 21st Century.

Premium has GONE UP overall in the 2.5 years I've had the truck, despite value of truck reducing by 40% or more.

I've shopped around periodically, they won't quote you a premium without them knowing what you currently pay. I've tried Geico, AAA, Ford, AARP.

Don't tell me these shysters aren't making $$$ in California.

Law just changed so that any auto insurer can give you a "loyalty" discount, not just the single insurer you're presently with. Supposedly, you'd accrue the benefit of a good history with your present insurer when moving to another carrier. I haven't seen a bit of difference, however - they've figured out how to game this.

My insurance went down by $5 / 6 months when going from a 1998 Toyota 4Runner to my 04 Lariat. That was with Progressive. They don't see to be really setup to deal with the new F150s yet, so that may have something to do with it.

Saved over $200/6mo by leaving AAA
