Third Brake Light??

Has anyone tried hooking up a brake light on the rear of a topper? Ford garage is telling me that a wire most be ran from the light up to the engine compartment. The 2003 had a green wire under the rear of the truck for this. My truck doesn't have a factory tow package.

I had the same dilema..... I can find no lead soley for a stop light under the truck and I do have the trailer towing package. I did find on the screw that the green wire in the wiring harness on the rigth side of the truck under the easily removed step pad inside the cab is the lead for the cab mounted stop light. If all else fails you could tap into this lead. If you are willing, pop off the step pad and you will see the green wire (and a bunch of others - but not nearly as many as there are on the left side).
