It had been mentioned in an earlier thread about the difficulty of putting the handle together in the tool kit.

BUT if you have the Supercab or Supercrew have you actually tried taking out the kit from under the rear seat.

DO NOT leave it until you really need it on a dark wet cold night in the middle of nowhere.

And once you've figured it out dont think your troubles are over.

You'll see what I mean when you try it !

The fact that Ford sees the need to include a waterproof sheet of instructions in the tool kit just about says it all !!!

I thought it was pretty simple to figure out.

Did you indeed !!!!

Which implies what !?

I think you better read more carefully that the point is to have a practice in the comfort of your own driveway...before cursing in the dark somewhere !

Get it!?

Without coming across as pompous I will refrain from telling you how many vehicles I have owned in my life...or indeed how many I own at this particular moment.....
Suffice it to say that this particular method of packaging and presenting tools is one of the worst I have ever seen !

Tools for use in an emergency should be ultra simple both to get at and use.

Now ..umm...what was the other thing I had difficulty with ?

Oh yes...piloting the space shuttle.

Don't believe me ??!!

There are much better jacks available than the lowest bid one Ford stuffed under the seat. We had a thread a month back on the subject. For those that might have an interest, go here.

Pumper Mike

Just bought a 2004 Screw and had no problem with the jack. I'm with Pumper Mike. Maybe it's a Texas thing. Did your instructions come in espanol?

In my OWN opinion I don’t think that using a jack to change a tire really constitutes an emergency. I think of emergencies as like get it done now or someone will die.

If you want to compare changing a tire to piloting the space shuttle, that could explain why things cost so much at NASA.

I agree with Pumper, take a chill!
