Running Boards

Hello,
My truck is scheduled to arrive at the dealer tomorrow. The dilemma I am having is whether I should get the bright polished tubular running boards or should I pass. Your thoughts ?

My truck:
2004 F150 4x2 Lariat
Oxford White/Monotone
LTHR CPT Chairs with flow-through console
Black Interior
5.4L V8
3.73 LTD Slip
PWR Sliding WND
Tow PKG
Bed Extend
P265/60R18 Tires

Thanks,

These running boards caught my eye the other day.

I'm not a fan of running boards in general, but these are so shiny and have a lower profile that looks really good.

I like these a lot better than any of other boards I've seen.

Thanks for your opinions. Pepatrick, I do like how they look on yours but I still wonder how they will look on a 4x2. Thanks.

Lenticular,

Thanks. They look good. I have asked the dealer to add them.

They must have a new style this year.

I beleive the bars referenced in Lent's post are different that the first link.

The bars on the black truck in the first link are a little different style, theye are lower profile and not quite a shiny.

The difference is dealer installed vs. factory installed.
Looks like the dealer installed some other type.

I sent my dealer a picture of Lent's truck. So, I expect the correct running boards to be installed. If not, they will have to remove them at their cost. I don't about you guys, but I thought the bright polished tubular boards would look like the ones on Lent's truck... Well, I pickup truck on Friday and will post pics shortly after... Thanks to all.

I have a 98 F-150 with the factory running boards, and it makes it much easier to dry off the roof after washing and when waxing it. Also it is easier for the ladies to get in the truck

Just wanted to clarify something about my running boards pictured a few posts above.

I bought my Lariat off a dealers lot...it was not factory ordered by me.

About the only thing it didn't have were factory running boards but the dealer had those Ford running boards in stock and fitted them for me....they were a genuine Ford part number
4L3Z*16450*MAA price $378.40.

The running boards also double as the body side molding that we don't get on the '04. I have the factory tubular ones on my 2001 and I've watched more than one hapless bozo ding his door on them. There is some justice in the world!

BTW Lenticular, I like the look of yours better than the factory installed ones. Is the price you paid just for the bars or is that parts and labor?
