Ughhhh! Why Why Why!
Someone please explain to me why I am at my dealer ready to order my 1st ever Ford vehicle, a 2004 F150 Lariat 4x4, and they tell me that my exterior color pallatte is limited to only 7 of the 11 total 2004 F150 choices and the color I want the most is unavailable. One would think that the "High End" Lariat model would allow its customer a full range of options over the others. Instead, Ford decides to limit the Lariat while catering to other, less pricey, models.
Call me ticky-tacky but this may be a deal killer for me. I feel that for nearly $40,000 I should have full choice of all the colors available. Then I could pick the one I like the best, True Blue CC. After all, if I only needed a $25,000 work truck, I could choose any color listed.
So please, someone forward to me the email address for the Marketing idiot who made this decision. Meanwhile I reconsidering my purchase until Monday.

I totally agree with the frustration of Ford's option limitations. I have scrubbed the catalog back and forth, and cannot find the combination that I really want. To get some items, you have to move up in cost, and still lose out on items only on the lower line. It's ridiculous!!!!
I've a close relative who has the same issue; he's going to restore old classic Lincolns instead of getting a new truck, just because he can't get what he wants.
Perhaps a boycott on the new F-150 would send a signal to Mr Ford-man. I've decided to wait for the 2005 series to see if the menu gets more flexible. If it isn't, I'll go back to the GMC line, at least they have mirrors that fold in for those tight squeeze areas, and a Bose sound system that doesn't take up valuable storage space under the seats.
