Shocks on an 04

Was driving past my dealer today. Stopped in as I saw a Blazing Yellow FX4 Supercab.

Stopped off to take a peek. I noticed while looking underneath that the shocks are mounted on the outside of th frame rails?

Whats up with that?

thats one of the many "new things" thats I am sure all trucks will have in the near future...but Ford was the 1st (right?). Increases stability, handling, etc etc etc...

I guess that Ford is the first. Just seemed really strange though. Time will tell IMHO if its better than the old way.

I'm no expert but it sure feels right. I test drove every 03 and 04 truck out there (including the 03 F150) and this truck handles so much better. I'm not saying a little better, but alot better. Not sure how much the shocks on the outside make a difference but I 'm impressed. If you get a chance go out and test drive one.

The 04's definately handle better than the 03 and older. It tracks a lot better and is much more stable in a turn.
