Question Is this what your console looks like?

I think this is right. As you can see, I still can't find out what coin is supposed to go in the last coin holder, but I did find the business card holder, tissue holder, and pen holder. I first thought the tissue holder was a CD holder. They actually sell this size tissure box at my local dealer for $2.50 or you can find them at wal-mart for less.

Where did you get the coin holder? Mine came w/o anthing in the console, other than a pack of Kleenex. No dividers, no coin holder or anything. fortunately I swiped the one out of my 00 XLT I traded in, but it just floats loose in the console.

That console is for the floor shifter style. There isn'ta coin holder (IIRC) in the steering column shift style.

I found you could put pennies in the first coin column so if you shift your coins over one. But you can't put as many pennies in there as the other ones, it seems a shade too big.

What I want to know is where is this mythical PDA holder. The manual says one I've yet to figure out what they are talking about.

I haven't seen the coin holder but maybe they designed it to handle the dollar coins. Dollar, quarter, nickel, dime?

Could be the dollar or maybe it is for a token of some sort like for parking garages or toll plazas. Not sure about it either, maybe it is just an extra holder for quarters?? Has anyone called the Ford help line to find out what the extra slot is for? Maybe they could tell you. I had success with them once about paint color questions and build date on my 03'

Don't I feel like an idiot

A tissue holder. What a goof I am. I also assumed that this was a CD holder and I was a little upset that they hadn't designed it just a little better. Had to put enough CD cases into it to create the tension needed to hold them in place while driving so they didn't fall out. DUHHH!
Oh well, I still will use it for a CD holder until I get a cold. That's what I get for blowing through the owners manual. I have seen several threads discussing the overhead console and what is offered, might be offered, etc, but haven't seen much about what is or might be offered for the center (flow through) console. It's huge as compared to my '01 since much of that was dedicated to the CD player. With all this space as compared to the overhead "bins" I would think that there is a lot of potential for utilizing this space. Heck, if I find a way to store the CD's, I'll even be able to carry tissues. Yippeee. Anybody know if there is anything out there yet?

I had CD's in my tissue holder for awhile too! As for the PDA holder, it must be right next to the Cd and tape slots that I also can't seem to find.

When I took my first test drive and opened the console, I was surprised that it seemed like a big empty space with a couple of slots, tissues and such. Surprising there's no CD slots.

I had to use duct tape to attach the small carpet square to the floor of the console so that all my stuff wouldn't slide around. The aftermarket better step up on this one. Duct tape...on my truck?...ugh

Bigsherm , I used double sided carpet tape to keep the pad in the console floor from sliding around. I would like to find a cd holder for the overhead rail system, so I can get my cd case out of console , to free up some room. I have checked with (2) dealers , asking for overhead bins , and they don't have any yet. I thought by now someone would be ofering them on the net.

If they don't have anything available, I think I'm gonna cut a piece of rubber (like the one on the dash) to put in the console.... that should keep everyting in place.

Another idea

If one of you engineer types can figure out how to put in some insulation and a drain, it would be an awfully convenient place to put a 12-pack...........and I'd be your first customer.

Well, Mercedes Benz has a cooler in their center concole why shouldn't we?

Since the air ducts go through the center console to the rear, why not redirect it into the storage compartment? Does anyone know what the temperature is of the air coming out of the vents?
