Front License Plate Holder

I picked up my White Lariat SCrew yesterday and am loving it! Since I live in Florida and don't need a front tag, I would like to get rid of the holder. Has anyone figured out how this comes off. I got under the front today but can't quite figure it out. I might just have to go buy a mirrored F150 tag and leave it on.
Secondly, on the dash to the left of the climate control, there is something that looks like it might possibly be a change holder. Has anyone figured out what this is? Is it a change holder?
Well, now I guess I have to figure out how to change my username since I traded in that 1999 SHO yesterday.
Thanks for any help.

If its anything like mine was on my 03, it was riveted in. Get yourself a drill bit, some safety glasses, and drill drill drill!

I have been wondering the same thing. I don't need the front plate in Michigan, so would like to take it off. I can unhook the top 2 plastic hooks that hold it on, but the bottom ones go through between the bumper and molding. I have looked from all angles, and didn't want to just start removing screws till I loosen the molding enough to get it out. Have considered breaking them off.
