Black Beauty is Here!!!

So I purchased my black Lariat 4x4 Scab today. It is loaded!

Moonroof
Audiophile
Tow Pkg
Reverse sensing
Power sliding rear
LT Tires
Black Leather interior
Captain's Chairs
Power and Heated seats pkg
Skid plates
35.7 Gallon tank

$39,000 out the door with 5year/100,000 mile warranty and a LoJack system.

this truck is so sweet. i love the black on black. it is kind of surreal. i have not been excited because it feels like i will have to take it back in the morning, like this is just an extended test drive. I love it though. so nice. so nice.

i will try to take some pics tomorrow and post them. no ticking on my engine and so far my outside temp sensor appears to be working fine.

the fun comes tomorrow when i show up in my new truck at the a$$hole dealer where i placed an order. i will walk in and tell him to look at what i just bought and to cancel my order. just goes to show you, customer service, and available inventory of course, make for good business.

all anyone can say is, "Damn that truck is huge." I can't say i disagree. it was nice driving around tonight watching heads turn and admire black beauty in all her glory.

Congrats! I hope you like keeping your truck clean, because speaking from experience...black is a bitch to keep clean.

I'll be pulling up beside you in my FX4 Screw at some point next May. Wanta race then?

Since it's only a matter of time, I'll just cut to it. The CALIFORNIA LICENSE FEE. How much did Davis ream you for?

The registration for my truck is due at the end of the month. Yippee! I get reamed too.

YEY FOR STATE MISMANAGEMENT!

i'm up for the challenge with the black. i will do everything i can to keep it clean and nice. it looks so sweet in person it is worth every minute of care.

my favorite things about the truck so far (after 24 hours of ownership) are:

Audiophile. It is boomin' w/ Tupac, System of A Down, DMB
Black on black...mmmm....so sweet...
Smooth shifting, smooth riding
The side mirrors (aka medicine cabinets)
Steering wheel controls and cruise control
Trip, MPG, MTE computer
The looks on other people's faces as I roll by.

one thing that is bad and good at the same time is that this **** has so much power and is so smooth that i often go faster than i realize. i feel like i am goign slow but i am doign 85 mph. my friend who took me to pick it up was asking why i was trying to lose her on the freeway home. i told her i was just driving like normal, but the truck had a mind of its own. cruise control is a nice way to limit my speed and avoid tickets. plus, it is abig help on MPG.

so TOD, when are we going to have those beers?

I love the sound of black on black, I want pictures (and yes, black on black sounds dirty!).

My only question, you listen to Tupac, SOAD, and then DMB? That's one hell of an array right there, and I can understand the first too. No one can talk smack about pac, system is amazing (one of my favorite bands!), but dave? Don't you realize DMB is part of the problem not the solution?

Or something...

But props to an all Black F-150 and System!

easy there tiger, you might start a riot over here. DMB is awesome. i am not going to get into a discussion about music styles because it is all about personal taste. what i will say is 8 albums later (plus live releases) and 10+ years of touring a lot every year, i think DMB is pretty well established as a great band, even if some people dislike them. everyone is entitled to their opinion. in my in-dash 6 CD changer the discs are currently:

1: Before These Crowded Streets - Dave Matthews Band
2: Steal This Album - System of a Down
3: Toxicity - System of a Down
4: Tupac Greatest Hits Disc 1
5: Tupac Greatest Hits Disc 2
6: Some Devil - Dave Matthews (solo)

I am quite happy with the selection. U2, Metallica, Snoop, Lauryn Hill, The Roots, LAGQ, Pearl Jam, and many others will happily grace my Audiophile system in the near future.

cheers.

BrewMaster, I'd love to share a BREW with you and at the same time take in the beauty of that truck of yours.

I was talking to the singer/guitar player in my band today and he was telling me about his boss getting a loaded 2004 4x4 Lariat SuperCrew just the other day. Needless to say, I was very angry.

I commend all you silly bastards for getting your trucks so early. I can't stand the wait til May. Oh well, at least I can live vicariously through all of you.

Hoorah for being a suck-***, wait til next summer little punk like me!

Off topic: I currently have Radiohead's Kid A in my CD player. Gosh I dig that album.

I give props to Radiohead and Peppez. I'm sorry, there must be too much space between us. I haven't listened to
"Steal this Albulm" considering I heard most of it about 2 years prior, and it was simply what didn't make it onto Toxicity. And I loved their first albulm, every song, amazing.

I'm sorry, I moved to the South, but listening to DMB.... lets not even go into that. And they love coke.

Anyone heard of Atmosphere? They're better than coke! Cause slug went and flipped his style! I never heard a mac like this before!

Damn! You might as well hire me to come write your ****! Sorry, God Loves Ugly is an amazing CD. Sean Daley = Phatest Rhymes.

And no, I don't ramble

Brewmaster,

Can't wait to see pics.

Are you familiar with Vynelex? think that is how you spell it. I just gave mine a wash today and used that on it. I used it shortly after I got my truck too and it looked better then the day I got it. It looks like it would be greasy but isn't. I barely had to wipe it down. It's funny, with all the sand that blows down here it hasn't been bad wiping down the truck.

Did I read that correctly? 35.7 gallon tank?

Full tank of premium is 40 bucks. And always makes the attendant go "Da-Yum! And I guess you don't want a car wash" cause I guess that much for straight gas is strange. And a truck that blings out of control is also out of the ordinary.

OK, way too many posts in one subject, but simply be prepared to wash black every 3 days (when it doesn't rain).

So you live in LA? And regular must be like $1.60 a gallon? So a full tank would be like over $50 bucks? And that really is only a week (at MOST!) of gas. Atleast that's a teenagers view, with a 5.4l which is normally atleast at 5,000 RPM.

Oh yeah, besides Atmosphere and System, the new Obie CD seems pretty good. Atleast "We All Die One Day" is better than crack. Um..... or something. I just love phat rhymes. Listen to music all day at work, so it's got to be some good ****. Cept in We all die 50 has one of the dumbest rhymes. Just like Lil Flip, saying that "David Banner" has "bad table manners. As it is said round the restaurant, "I'm in the club with David Banner...... that's right, this guy I just met named David Banner."

Sorry, I normally have a point, then just ramble. I'm good at math, not english.

$1.60 a gallon??!! HA HA *******ING HA!
Try $1.81 a gallon on average...and I'm being conservative. California is so freaking screwed, it's a pity. I wish I had the time or the inclination to sit here and discuss the state of disarray California is in.

Unfortunately I'd either kill myself or kill others in a total insane rage because I or anyone else for that matter can't wait until we have a state government that can control things without bleeding all its constituents dry.

Jeez I wish I lived in Arizona....
