VIN Check Request

I just recently received a VIN number for my truck order (FX4 SCREW). The VIN # is 1FTPW14564KA92637. Needless to say, I am extremely anxious to get the truck. If it isn't a problem, I would greatly appreciate it if someone could look this VIN up and advise status.

Thanks!

Williams 5457, did you happen to order two-tone?

BIGMACFX4, my dealer still doesn't have my VIN. Ordered 9/4 w/ two-tone. Is it possible that they might not get teh VIN before segment, sequence, blend, produced, etc dates? In other words, could I be surprised that my truck is further along than serialize date when they are able to get a VIN?

Thanks

JMO (a guess), but I don't think that's possible. They must have a VIN to start the process... No VIN = No frame/body. It's possible that your dealer is behind the 8-ball, though. There could be a VIN assigned without him knowing right away. That was usually the case with mine.

Thanks BIGMACFX4!!!

Guigster,

Yes, I did order a 2-tone (true blue with the dark shadow grey). In fact, there were 3 items that the dealer raised concerns with that could have or possibly did slow down delivery -- the two-tone paint, the Goodyear LT tires, and the bright tubular running boards (all were listed as commodities according to the dealer). However, it doesn't seem to have been much of an issue in my case since based on the information BIGMACFX4 has provided my delivery date should fall well within the quoted 6-8 week lead time. Hopefully you will receive some good news on your truck soon -- good luck!

That's what I was looking for. I knew you needed a VIN to start. But I wanted to know if it was possible that there already is one and my dealer doesn't know about it yet. That's what I'm hoping anyway. I guess what I meant to say was is it possible the DEALER wouldn't get a VIN before, all those other dates. Seeing as how Williams5457 just got his VIN, I guess it is possible.

Williams5457,

I'm glad to hear that you ordered two-tone. It's given me hope. I called my dealer the other day and she didn't have anything yet. So I was getting bummed. I ordered six days after you, so I'm crossing my fingers that I'll be a week behind you. I have P tires and black tubulars.

Guigster!

I did not get my VIN until 9/15/03 and I HAD to make an issue about getting it. So you can see from my dates that it definitely could be further along. It probably relates to any "Commodity holds" though. Lariat SCrew 4X2 White Monotone

VIN #1FTPW125X4KA98606

Receipt Date: 9/4/2003
Serialize Date: 9/5/2003
Segment Date: 9/5/2003
Sequence Date: 9/18/2003
Blend Date: 9/19/2003
Produced Date: 9/29/2003
Gate Release Date:
Ship Date:

If I only knew when my new truck would get here!! Because I gotta sell my '96 XLT Reg Cab, but I dont want to be without a ride for tooo long though.

You can probably guestimate about 1-2 weeks after build to receive your truck. Here were my dates:

Order Date: 7/11/2003
Receipt Date: 7/11/2003
Serialize Date: 8/14/2003
Segment Date: 8/15/2003
Sequence Date: 8/20/2003
Blend Date: 8/22/2003
Produced Date: 9/3/03
Gate Release Date: 9/3/03
Ship Date: 9/8/03
Arrival Date: 9/18/03
Pick Up Date: 9/22/03

It shows it was serialized on 8/14 and my dealer didn't provide it to me until 8/27.

Your Truck needs to be Serialized before it can move forward -- a few issues maybe working against you -- Option content (color and SCrews are running long) Your dealer may not be checking as often as you would like -- I was talking with mine the day it was serialized and he had the VIN by 9am -- Good Luck

Thanks Mallen4258. I'm in the same boat. I just want to know when. I don't need it right now. But I want to try and sell my 98 Explorer. But not too soon. And not too late.

Thanks to you too BIGMACFX4. I was just figuring that since Williams5457 ordered an FX4 Screw w/ two-tone also, that mine would be shortly behind. I figured those two commoditites would hold it up a bit.
