No SuperCrews to be found
Hi All,
I test drove a '04 SCrew FX today and I want one!
The dealer wouldn't budge from MSRP, he would not even honor the X-Plan, because of high demand and low supply.
Using www.fordvehicles.com I searched all PA dealers within 100 miles of my home, Pottstown, PA and there are very few '04 F-150s out there and even less ( almost none ) SCrews. Is this just eastern PA or is it everywhere?
I contacted a different dealer through FordPartners/Ford Direct over the Internet. Hopefully I can get a better price.
Any ideas when we might have more? I heard that a new assembly plant is coming on line soon. Does anybody now if this is true?
Best Regards
Michael

You may want to try calling around. I have also searched vehicle inventory, in the DFW area, and have found that it is very unreliable.
Also, every dealer around here is different on their pricing. I spoke with a few that would not come off MSRP and thought I was crazy for wanting to buy my truck for invoice. Finally found one though. Funny thing is, it is the same dealer that would only take MSRP 6 weeks ago.

Pumpermike, I'm in the same boat. I'm in the Allentown/Beth area. Also waiting for a Lariat screw. There's a few. Falkner in Q-town has two. A white one and a Arizona Beige, both monotone.
I want black 2 tone, tan leather.
Hang in there! They're worth the wait.

jeez, y'all need to come out here to CA. i find about 3 Screws for every 1 Scab around here. lots and lots of Screws out here.
and if they won't budge from MSRP keep trying. they will say things to bring you down like, "who do you think will give you THAT price." keep trying, you'll get what you want eventually. you may also want to put in a special order. if your dealer, or any dealer for that matter, gets the truck you want in before your special order arrives, you can just buy that one and cancel your special order. if it was already built, you can still get out of it. just find a dealer who will give you around invoice for a special order. then, as you check out other dealers, you don't feel bad when you get rejected. that's what i am doing now. it is like looking for job when you are laready employed, versus when you are unemployed. moral stays high when you got one on special order already at the price you want. this is war, you gotta be in na war mindset.

Yes here in the deep south the supercrews are still a little less common than the supercabs but they are findable. Most dealers around here have maybe 2 to 4. My question is.....are the supercrews made only at the Kansas City plant? I am sure others have answered this in the past but I wasn´t sure. The other plant comes on line but isn´t that still sometime away? like after the first of the year?
Can dealers choose which vehicles they do X-plan for?
I know they can choose to do x-plan or no x-plan. But seems they would have to do it for all vehicles if for any.

X-plan is left up to the dealers discretion.

Thats not necessarily true....X plan is the same as A plan....as far as if you truely are eligible for either...they cannot deny it!....X plan (often referred to as Supplier discount or friends and family) is a benefit of working for a company that is a supplier to Ford or of being a Friend or Family member (not immeadiate) of a Ford employee. Ford employees get so many (i think 5) chances to give out A plans for immeadiate family members. Thats a negotiated benefit in their contract. No dealer has the right to deny you if you are truely eligible. But then again I'm not too familiar with X plan...I use A plan all the time....I have a sister that works the line at henry's playground (the "mighty" rouge).

The dealer HAS the option of declining the A-plan or X-plan. The plan is a privledge, not a right. My family in Mass. ran into this with A-plan purchases. The local dealer declined their A-plan request, so my family went to a different dealership a few towns over who glady took their A-plan (and their money!).
Ford cannot force a dealership to accept their discount plans. This is a fact. In my opinion, any dealer that turns down a discount plan is doing it simply for greed.

It's my understanding that the Screws are made in K.C. Every Screw I've seen in person has a Kansas City sticker in the lower corner of the passenger side front windshield.

Regradless, do u think dealerships don't make money on A or X plans???.....do u really think that "invoice" is really what the dealers pay?....I don't believe that....they still make big bucks on A and X plans.
Any dealers out there that want to chime in on this one?....
I think I still would make a call to Ford customer service if a dealer refused to accept a price that FORD has stated that employees should pay.
Hi All,
I work for a Ford Partner, whatever that is, and we aslo have discount plans for GM and Chrysler.
You guys are right, that dealer is greedy, the only vehicle I bought from them was my wife's ride and they gave me the X-Plan
price, course that was in February and they hadn't made many sales that week.
Beastboy what area are you from? Sorry to hear about the problems with your truck. My 1999 F150 XLT, three Ford's ago, had to have the engine replaced for piston slap and a thin section in the block, ( pass. side rear, aka headgasket leak ) and I feel your pain.
Checking an Internet friendly dealer this morning and will post results later.
Thanks for all the responses!
Best Regards
Michael
