Here it is...

Participating dealerships agree to comply with all of the terms outlined in this document, including the Red Carpet Lease Option provisions. Authorized Ford, Lincoln-Mercury, Jaguar, Volvo, Land Rover, and Mazda dealerships are encouraged, but not obligated, to participate in the Family & Friends A/X/Z-Plan.

IF YOUR DEALER DOESN'T WANT TO PARTICIPATE, I WOULD WALK AWAY AND FIND A NEW DEALER. REMEMBER, A GOOD DEALER WILL GO OUT OF THE AREA TO GET YOU YOUR VEHICLE. I'VE KNOW DEALERS WHO WENT OVER A 100 MILES AWAY TO PICKUP VEHICLES FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Regradless, do u think dealerships don't make money on A or X plans???.....do u really think that "invoice" is really what the dealers pay?....I don't believe that....they still make big bucks on A and X plans.

Any dealers out there that want to chime in on this one?....

I think I still would make a call to Ford customer service if a dealer refused to accept a price that FORD has stated that employees should pay.
Dealers do pay that.....if you get the A plan, the dealer then gets a credit from Ford.

Bottom Line, PumperMike...

Don't buy from that a-hole dealer who wouldn't budge from MSRP. He must really be a loon for thinking you would pay that when we all know how marked up they are.

If you want to travel over the Walt Whitman to Jersey, there is a sweet looking Red FX4 Screw @ Holman Ford in Turnersville. Black leather seats, 18" wheels.

Thanks for the tip guigster, but I think I want an XLT for the bench seat, I drove a FX and the seat was a little too tight for me.

Talked to two other dealers today, both will honor the x-plan with no hassle, even if I order one, and any rebates that come along before delivery they will honor as well!

Tomorrow I'm going to wash/wax and vacuum my '02 and see how much I can beat these dealers down on the price below x-plan and beat them up on the trade.

Best Regards

Michael

You can get a bench seat in an FX4. You don't have to get the column shifter. I ordered a bench. Black sport cloth. I find the FX4 to be way superior to the XLT, IMHO. From the dash, to the bigger wheels, to the body color bumpers, to the interior looks...it rocks!

Hi Michael,

I'm down in West Chester and got the FX4 SuperCrew from Fred Beans this week. It has the bench seats, the captain's chairs and center console are optional. I paid close to invoice.

A friend of mine used the x-plan to get the XLT two weeks ago from John Kennedy Ford in Norristown.

I'd be surprised that you can't work a deal to get one using the plan. It seems they are really trying to move them.

If you use the website daily to find your screw, you should be able to find one in a few days. I had been tracking it and saw the inventory changed every day.

BTW, what dealer did you go to?

Good luck,
brett

the dealer doesn't take a hit on x-plan or a-plan or any other plan, Ford is giving a discount. i told my dealer, after we negotiated a sweet price under invoice, that I might be eligible for x-plan (which ended up falling through) and he begged me to see if i could go x-plan because he would make more money. i laughed out loud in his face as if I give a crap how much money he makes...

I know that Ray price Stroud Ford (570-420-1100) has a black Lariat screw. Flow-through shifter, roof, tow package. I bought the almost identical truck for Jack Trebour in NJ. I got lucky to find the exact truck I wanted and THEN they sold it for $200 over invoice.

I understand that dealers DO NOT have to sell their stock inventory, but they must take your A / Z / X plan orders. Most of the time they will sell their inventory, unless they have a hot selling vehicle. If they can make more dollars selling it retail, they will. NJR

The X-plan and A-plan are not the same. The Z-plan and the A-plan are. The A/Z are deep discounts for employees and retirees. The X-plan is a little discount for other who do business with FMC.

I wouldn't exactly say that the X-Plan is a "little discount".
X-Plan can knock off +/- $5000.00 off MSRP. That is NOT a "little discount", is it?

Sure, it is not A/Z Plan(s) but given that you now have some Dealers marking up these trucks beyond "MSRP", it is nice to have this "little discount" it ones back pocket....

Dealer's don't have to take "X" plan. I used it recently, it really was nothing really special. Price was just over invoice, I've gotten that before.

The only bonus was no haggle - fixed price. But then they try to get you if you're trading in.

The dealer is still making at least a few thousand dollars not including the hold back (ya know, that added incentive to move it faster - the faster they move it = less overhead and interest on the unit)

My most recent purchase was a 2003 which had greatttt rebates and deals - I saved just under $10K off MSRP and never would've gotten the options that I got if I waited for the 2004.

When I lived in California it was hard finding the truck you wanted. Here in Nevada it seems there are no shortages. I would imagine Texas is like that too
