I personally prefer the A.R.E. fiberglass tonneau. I think they look better than the others available. From what I have heard from others they pretty much keep all water out because they wrap over the lip of the bed and tailgate. You can also get a gasket for the tailgate if keeping water out is a major concern. I just got an A.R.E. for mine and I love it so far but it has only been a few days so I am not sure about the water but I would think it will do a fine job of keeping things dry.

Depends on what you are looking for. Snugtop has one that is flat and looks streamlined. Leer has one that has, not sure how to describe it but it looks like a hump. Check out www.americancampershells.com They have a couple of links to them.

Whoa, TRIPLE POST!!!!! LOL

My truck is not even here yet, but I orderd an ARE LS-II with optional carpet liner. Talked to places that sold both LEER and ARE and the vendors said that both are very good, but they liked the way ARE shaped the tonneau to match the lines of the truck that it was made for.

I've got a SnugTop on my Splash. No leaks, nice and flat. The one thing I urge you to make sure of is that the place installing it does a good job. I got a half-*** install on my lid, so I have to nudge it a bit in order to lock it, which means the inside edges have rubbed a bit. Other than that, it works great.

I made the mistake of opening the lid after it rained right after I got it. The water that had collected on top went right in the bed.

how about Home Depot. a ply wood sheet and a nail gun. anyone? anyone? no? didn't think so...

i have to put in my plug for the BedLocker. it is the electric retractable tonneau cover. after I saw one lst week, i was sold. it is about $1400, but worth it i think. water collects on top just like any other but when you roll it in the water goes into the canister which has drain tubes to drain out of the truck bed so it stays dry. check it out, www.pace-edwards.com

I am going with the ARE LSII. I need a place to haul bicycles and they have a rack option on top of the cover installed at the factory. I was just quoted a prive of 1547.00 out the door in the Bay area (CA) with the rack, headliner, light and keyless entry. Got to have the best for the best truck....

I am more than pleased with my new ARE.

Good fit and weathersealing.

Maybe I got a fluke, but my ARE lid (for a 2003 screw) just showed up with gashes on both sides... Needless to say I am not to impressed right now.. The dealer said he would take $100 off... I told him he can order me a new cap.. We will see how ARE handles it, but check your cap when it arrives.. They may have some shipping issues, or its just a fluke...
