removing child seat straps?
My supercab has a strap for a child seat that sticks straight up in front of my sliding rear window. Anyone know if there is an easy way to remove or hide it? It looks stupid when the window is open. Do you guys have these too?
bigsherm77-Yes my Supercrew also has the 3 tether straps. The middle one sticks out like a sore thumb. Can't bend it down out of the way. I adjust the rear view mirror so I don't have to look at it. Any one else have ideas?
Let me also request information on how to remove or at least take out of view this item. My babies are now 23 and 20 years old and I think they will fight me tooth and nail if I would try to put them in a child restraint seat. The damn thing should have some way to remove it from sticking straight up and in the middle of my vision when I look out the rear view mirror.
My freind from work picked up his truck, I met him yesterday to look at it. I walked to the rear of the truck and saw that child restraint sticking up also. I don't know what the designers were thinking. There has to be a way to get rid of it.
I can see behind the seat back to where the straps are bolted on. Just have to figure out how to remove the seat so I can get at the bolts. Might need a bigger hammer......

This is my first post on this great site. I have enjoyed surfing this site for the past couple of weeks. I just got a Black 2004 FX4 Supercab last week. I finally found how to hide the childseat strap. Remove the plastic cover by removing the one staple it has in it. The plastic cover then slides up off of the strap and the strap can then be tucked out of the way behind the seat. I would rather remove it as I will not be using it, but at least this easily gets it out of the way. Thanks for the great site and I LOVE my new truck. Take care.

disregard my last post. I quite easily was able to fold the center strap down and out of sight. If you guys do it, needlenose pliers will make it easier to remove the staple than using a key.
