Work Update

2004 XLT Tow package, 4.6 L, 36 gal., 4x2. supercab
Well this weekend I used the truck for what it was designed for.....I hauled my 18 ft. fish and ski to go fishing with son (3 year old) and I used it to go and get about 1500 pounds of soil for a new garden. When hauling boat I knew it was back there but it was not a problem. Very quiet. With the load of soil I couldn't even tell I had a load until I backed into driveway and my trailer ball scraped the drive.....scared the #$%#$% out of me because I thought it was the tailgate at first. I am approaching E on the fuel gauge so I will let you know what kind of milage I am getting. I wanted the 5.4 but could not pass up the deal I felt like I got on this one. About $750 below x-plan. Would have gone with 2003 but I wanted the back seat roon in the 2004. My son loves it!

For all of you new owners....have you been getting calls from Ford? I got a very detailed call last week asking all kinds of specifiic questions about the new 2004. Guess they are checking to see if they have all bugs worked out???

I had my truck for over two weeks and haven't got a single call yet.

I guess they are picking them at random.

hey,

I was wondering you like the XLT with the 4.6L. Does it have decent pickup? I was thinknig about buying a Screw with a 4.6L, and I was wondering if it would suit my needs considering I won't tow anyting. i might put some stuff in the bed occasionally

Thanks
