lack of 04's at dealerships?

Not sure about anywhere outside of California, but I noticed that hardly any Ford dealers out here are carrying any 04's... they mostly are just saying that all the 04's (the few they got from Ford) were on the pre-order/reserve list and that Ford really rushed them to market, hence why you dont see many on show-room floors... this sort of pisses me off cause I want to test drive some because I'm still a little skeptical about buying a Ford over a Silverado

OH NO! Luke, stay away from the dark side.

There are not tons of the 04's here in GA just yet either. I did however talk to the guys at the dealership about them and one of the things they pointed out to me was that the new frame on them makes them much more solid on rough terrain. The rough terrain the guy was talking about was driving over the curb of course at the lot to park the truck up by the road but he told me that it was way more solid than the previous years. They also beefed up the 5.4 as well. Overall, I think many of the improvements they have made on the 04 are long overdue but I still have a complex about that new body style. Although the new body looks a little bit tougher in a bulldog kinda way I guess it will just have to grow on me a bit.

Well here in Texas, at the dealership here in town they have 6 2004 F-150 and it is a very small dealership. At a bigger dealership in Wichita Falls TX thy have 41 of the 2004 F-150. Those are the only numbers for 2004 F-150 at dealerships. Usually you will see at least 10 2004 F-150 at most of the dealership in Texas. I am betting that dealerships in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston probalby have somewhere around 50-60 2004 F-150.

Living in a small town as I do, I can feel your pain. We have 5 dealers within 25 miles and none have more than 6 trucks and out of all of them, 1 SCrew. I looked up a suburb of Detroit, Westland, and found as many as 33 trucks at one dealer and almost the exact truck I have had on order for over two months. They are out there, just not where we live.

Well down here in southern cali we have a decent amount...
At the BIG dealership Galpin ford there is 96 stx, xlt, lariat
Vista ford has 53 xlt, stx, lariats

Simi Valley ford only has 11 xlt, stx, lariat, fx4s but when I drove by to work they had a SICK looking 04 blazing yellow fx4 flairside! Looks awesome!

So they are getting around!

I cant wait for my white lariat supercab!

Ive seen a lot at galpin which is awesome, any they are selling them really well. But at simi ford they arent selling them at all. Ive seen pretty much the same ones just sitting around.
I have only seen one on the road, it was parked in a store lot and I ended up talking to they guy that owned it. I think he said he got it valley park ford, but he got jipped. They told him there was no bargining that he could do. He had a black supercab fx4 with out leather, said i think he said it was like 34 or 35 for the truck then total out the door was 38k with all of california's new tripled car tax.
Cool truck but for what he got i wouldnt have paid, he should have done a little more research!

Not sure why you say that...www.pearsonford.com here in San Diego, California shows 24 2003 F-150s and 59 2004 F-150s in stock. And those numbers do not include the 04 Heritage F-150s.

Svelte.

Seems like Ford is favoring their "Ford Country" dealerships and being skimpy on the rest... i see lots of Texas, etc. people and dealerships with no problems, but problems everywhere else.... I can understand giving more to your best market, but to completely overlook the rest of the market that's pretty gay...

One of teh biggest Ford dealers here in Jacksonville had 9-10 on display about 2 weeks ago. One of the guys said that most of the dealers in the are got about the same amount in. He also told me that so far they had been averaging selling about 1 a day. I have only seen one on the road so far though, as this dealership is in the city and I am in the next county.

Actually thats the fair way of doing it. We sell mostly pickups in our area and so we get more than they do in other areas. Its called "Turn and Earn". If you sell a lot of trucks when they are easy to get you'll continue to get more than others if they're hard to get. The dealers like us that get lots of trucks often are the other side on cars. We sell very few cars and when they're hard to get we don't get many. The 2005 Mustang will be this way, every dealer in Texas will have them in stock and I won't be able to get a sold one. Howver, this is fair as they sell Mustangs now when I refuse to order them. Thats why you'll see "truck" dealerships with a better selection of F-150's than "fair weather" truck dealers.

Here in B´ham our dealers still have a fair number of ´03s to sell off before we will see the ´04s out in mass. Makes sense to me that a lot of dealers might not be over running with them yet if they still have last year´s model to sell.

d2alio, Check out Hemborg Ford in Norco, CA, Raceway Ford in Riverside, CA, Fritts Ford, Riverside, CA. Galpin motors in Norh Hills. If you go to Fordvehicles.com you can search inventory. You will just need to know zip codes. I researched there and found mine at Raceway....hope this helps...

Still kind of a pain seeing as how those places are each an hour away and you'd think that they'd target major cities around Los Angeles, jeez
