They did roll a lot of them back- or so I hear the Texas natives say. That was before I became a state resident (1995). I'm told this is why retail stores can be open, as well as many other places.

However, I have 4 buddies that work at dealerships. (2 at Trophy Nissan, one at Bob Tomes Ford and one at North Central Ford) and, from what I've been told them is that the blue laws still apply to them. They can only be open 6 days a week, Max. Mon - Fri, Sat or Sun, but not Sat & Sun. Maybe even that has changed as far as either/or on the weekend, but the 6-day maximum is still in effect for them.

Not sure whether the story is bull or not but I just thought it was cool to hear about a brand new truck getting totalled. Just imagine the sticker still on the window with the airbag blown LMAO. That and a police chase, dumb cops trying to figure out what to do next. I hope the dude took down the whole utility pole and knocked off power to the neighborhood for a whole day LOL.

Cars are stolen every day, and I'm willing to bet that most of them don't make the news.

yea but you're missing the point... how often are POLICE CHASES not mentioned? They are mentioned virtually every time because that's "good news"... not only that but it was a police chase involving publicly destroyed property. It would have been in the news for that reason because the city would have needed to be informed of such an action...

In a voyueristic state like ours, pretty much every stolen car chase makes the news. Remember OJ?

But then again, San Diego is a good 2 hours away from me. I don't think I would've heard anything on our local news.

Wow, you guys get worked up pretty easily. I was just posting at the time to vent my frustration. Yes the truck was stolen, yes it was in a police chase(not on the freeway and only lasted a few min, not enough time for police coverage). The chases you hear about on the news last for a duration not a short time as this one did. From the time the truck was stolen to the time it was totaled was maybe 30 min most likely only 15. I took some pictures w my digital camera when I was at the impound lot with the adjuster. I'll post them later today when I get back home. Dealers are open sunday and if you doubt that just go to
http://www.mossyford.com/hoursanddirections.asp
so easy to verify. I was pissed w the line-x dealer but I'm waiting to see how they respond when this whole situation is resolved before I post anything negative or positive about them.

On the other hand if you guys could help me out I'd appreciate a name of a dealer here in San Diego area that is reputable and would be willing to sell me a new F-150 at 5% over dealer cost. I've been having trouble negotiating getting a portion of the holdback and other factory to dealer incentives. Thanks for those of you that decide to help me out with this especially seeing you have no idea who I am.

In regards to the winch I'll put that on hold until I have a replacement, hopefully within a week or two.

P.S. I haven't replied because I've been tied up dealing with this and other personal matters all week.

Almost forgot for all you doubters, if you want you can verify the sell date with that. Hopefully all of those that bashed me will feel guilty enough to try and help me out. Just think if it had been your new 2004 F-150 and you had a trip planned to baja for the weekend with your new girlfriend and this happened.

So, if you paid $33,000 and wholesale value is $28,000 You'll be out of $5,000.00. My wife and all her freinds works for GEICO, and I'll just say that I know more about insurance than I ever cared to....

Insurance, what a scam....
Actually in CA law they have to pay full purchase price including tax's, tags, regs, etc... If the vehicle is under 6 months old and a certain amount of milage. One nice thing about CA I must say, so I'll get a full refund. Ohh and I paid 500 and some change over invoice.

I've been pretty successful getting invoice price from a few dealers in Orange County, CA. If dealer price is 3% under that (4.5% for blue oval dealers), then that's close.

Here's to hoping you get your new ride with little hassle from insurance/lawyers.

I never doubted you for a minute.

Really. This didn't sound like a troll posting. I say that because it sounded like the guy was pi$$ed, but not trying to get us going.

In fact... I would talk to a lawyer about having the Line-X guy pay for it. He had custody and by negligently having the keys accesible to be stolen his insurance policy should replace the truck. IMO

Hey! My dad always said think of the positive!

At least you have a g/f, most of the guys on here never even had one .

Seriously, just think of this. Material goods can be replaced, life cannot. Could have been worse.

Well yeah the Line-x dealers insurance is taking care of eveything and has accepted full liability. Under CA law I should receive a full refund for all my expenses. Anyway here are the pics people requested.
