cheap seats

I noticed some were talking in another thread about the rear supercab seat being all vinyl and the supercrew leather. Well i almost took delivery of a lariat supercrew that i ordered, until i was swayed by a few things. One being that my truck came off the car carrier with buffing compound all slung down the side of it and i quickly noticed some scratches in the front bumper and fender that had been painted over. Then the first night i drove it home, i found a terrible whistling wind noise over 50 MPH.
Well, anyway, back to the seats, the rear seat in a supercrew has only 4 small real leather patches, as i have circled in the pics below. The rest of the seat, including the center position, is vinyl. So i decided to keep my 03 EBauer Expedition for now.

Does the exterior door cladding on your 03 Expy rattle and squeek over 75 mph or in a strong headwind?

I'm going nuts with the inability for anyone to fix this.

no, the eddie bauer trim is made out of a different material then the other ones. which one do you have? we have had some customers complain about it on xlt's and ive seen some of our guys putting foam tape or something behind them to fix it. I havent heard anything on mine, and havent seen anyone come in to us complaining about it on a eddie bauer yet.

How does the vinyl feel? My supercab has all vinyl rear seats I guess but I can barely tell the difference.

My Supercrew front and rear leather seats look and feel the same. My 97 F150 Supercab with leather definitely had the complete vinyl rear seat. Kidtriton I don't doubt you, but with the tan leather it's hard to feel/see the difference.

Don't stress too much. The back seat is LEATHER for the Lariat.

Kidtriton was talking about a Lariat Screw. According to him, it's not all leather. There's some funky stuff going with Ford's interpretation of what a leather rear seat really is if he is indeed correct.

From the documentation I have...

"Seats (rear) SuperCab & SuperCrew only. 60/40 flip up split bench. Rear seat matches front seat (when leather front seat is ordered on SuperCab and/or FX4 SuperCrew rear seat will be preimum vinyl)."

I take this to mean that the Lariat is leather. From the Lariat's I've seen and touched so far, they sure felt like leather to me.

I agree with Kidtriton. Look at the Ford website. I have copied and pasted it below. The seats are Mostly vinyle

"Leather Trimmed 40/20/40 Front Seat with Manual Driver and Passenger Lumbar

- Rear 60/40 Flip Up Split Bench Seat"

"Leather Trimmed" means mostly vinyl with small amounts of leather just to allow the marketing guys to claim the Lariet has leather. Some manufactures also call it "leather seating surfaces" which still means it has vinyl on the sides and back of the seat.

The King Ranch is the only F-150 that truly has all leather seating surfaces.

I won't buy a new F-150 until they come out with a King Ranch version.

well, acording to this (posted below from http://www8.forddirect.fordvehicles....d=&statetoken=) the King Ranch has leather TRIMMED seats as well....maybe thats just the wording ford uses to explain their seats. I know the seats in a King Ranch are all leather.

Maybe because of the quality (low) of the smooth leather they are using to make the regular leather seats it just feels like vinyl?....
