Upgrading Tires

The truck I am looking at, an FX4, has 17" wheels. I was wondering if I could order the 18" wheels with the BFGoodrich or the Wrangler tires without having to have my speedo recalabrated. The tires that are on it now are General P255/70/17 and the ones I want to put on them if I get it are P275/65/18. Or would it be better if I ordered one with the 18" tires. Any help would be greatful. If I get this truck, it would be my first Ford and my first truck. I guess that is why I am asking so many questions.

Im pretty sure your speedo would have to be recalibrated, I think it might be cheaper actually to just order one. But if your looking at one off the lot, you might have to ask your dealer. Im sure someone else has more info than me though.

The MSRP for the 18" wheel option is $320. If you want the Goodyear ATS tires, another $225. You won't find 18" rims and tires for $550. You won't find tires for that much. Obviously, you could sell the 17" OEM rims/rims, but I don't know how that market is since the truck is so very new and not many people would be looking for them. If you can wait, I would find/order a truck with the options you want. Usually cheaper than "upgrading" later.
