Spray in bedliners...one other question

I know we have hashed around spray in liners here on this board several times at least but one thing I never really saw come out of it was....which is the best? I know you can get the coupon off and samples but I really would like to know which one is the best. I do know that the rhino seems to have less texture to it and if you donīt get that "protector coat" or whatever it is they call it then after about a year the black ones are gray and look like ··$$%&. Of course that extra protective coating makes it slicker so it undoes some of the positive of having a spray in liner in the first place. So....anybody got a "best liner to buy" opinionŋŋ??

I'm going with Line-X, but it really does come down to your personal preference. Both liners will experience color fade, regardless. Depending on the color, some will fade more than others. I don't believe the protective coating makes the surface slicker, but if you use something like armor-all it will.

See this thread.

Well, I'm out of luck for Line-X. There is no dealer Line-X dealer in my state. Makes my decision easier.

Smile Armor-All

I just picked up my truck after having a rhino liner installed. On the receipt in bold lettering was the warning; DO NOT APPLY ARMOR-ALL TO THE RHINO LINER.

Best regards,

I have a Line-X liner and when I wash the truck wherever the soapy water runs in the bed it leaves a clean black liner. I usually just soap and a brush and it looks practically new. There is a little fade but nothing major just some of the shine is gone. Perhaps it is because I put stuff back there and have scuffed off the shine. If you get it color keyed it would probablly not show the fade as bad as black would.

I am not sure where the armor all issue began but what I was refering to as the shiny protective coating was what they call a "top coat" I believe. They spray it over the liner material and it gives you the benefit of the liner not fading or bleaching out. It makes the liner shiny. I compared one truck side by side to another without this coating and there was a little difference as far as texture. The one that was "protected" seemed to be a little more slippery than the other one but didnīt look faded and gray. I would never go to all the trouble of putting armor all on the whole entire bed.
