Rebates on new F-150s

Ok, I know that some of you in other parts of the country have remarked about how quickly the F150s are moving off dealer lots but down here in the deep south they arenīt for whatever the reason may be. The dealer by my house has had the same trucks on his lot for over two weeks now and the screw has been there for over a week. Plenty of test drives and no buyers. I figured that after the publicity campaign kicked off they would move for sure. Other dealers around seem to be keeping their same units also. My question is....does anybody know if Ford is going to offer any sort of incentives for sure and should I wait before ordering my screw? I would hate to order only to have them come out with something a month or so later. Kind of like when I bought a car a month before 9/11 and all of the incentives hit soon there after.

My experiences have been similar to yours. I am in south Louisiana and most of my local dealers have had the same units for at least two weeks now, some for as long as a month. While the 04 F150 is undoubtedly the best truck out right now, I don't think they are going to fly off the lots priced 2-3 k more than the competition (factoring in rebates). I am holding off for a few months because I think Ford will have to offer something to get this thing moving beyond those who ordered one. Just look on this board, it seems that about 95% of those who have taken delivery, ordered the truck. I only remember seeing 1 post from someone who bought from inventory.

Like someone else posted, I hope Ford at least throws us some kind of bone!

The problem about waiting for rebates is if you are trading or selling your current vehicle, it will be worth less the longer you wait. So if you wait 4-6 months and get a 1000.00 rebate, you may get 2000.00 less for your current vehicle. Just a thought!!

Yeah, I anticipated that which is why I sold my other Ford truck in May. Now the wait is killing me since all I have is the cash waiting to be put down on the new one. Decisions... Of course one thing that might be happening is here in the south for sure we have dealers with thousands it seems of the 03īs and they might simply be offering such a good deal on those that nobody can bear to buy the 04. I do know that over the weekend I went away from my area to other dealers and all of the Sunday lookers were making comments like...."This new truck sure doesnīt look anything like the pictures on tv. I think its ugly." So I dunno. Seems like I heard that two or three times. I am sort of getting the idea from the general public that they are going to have to grow into this new look which would mean that for sure Ford would have to offer something. Just my thoughts.
