I would really like to see one too. I guess it's on the same wheelbase as a regular cab. I really don't need a 6.5ft bed and the 5.5 bed is actually cheaper and I would assume lighter.

Truck of Doom, since you are in South Pasadena, check www.fordofmontebello.com . You can search their inventory online but i don't think it gives the bed length. Give a call to Jonivan the fleet manager. he's a nice guy and he helped me out. not a pressure sales guy. he can tell you what they have and you can go down and see what you want. they've had anywhere from 15-20 2004s in stock for the past 2 weeks and they keep getting them in. they're right off Wilcox/Garfield from the 60.

The Edmunds.com website also has a pic of a red scab FX4 with the 5.5' bed in the photo gallery under the 04 F150.

Thanks djwebster, that looks very good and almost 2000.00 cheaper than the screw and 1000.00 than the flareside.

I agree. The more I look at the pic, the more I like it. I really would want to see one in person. I think it has a "sporty" look. I think you can still get the 35 gallon gas tank with the 5.5' bed, too.

You can't get the 5.5' bed in a regular cab.

Talking

Two weeks ago I bought a 2003 Bright red XLT sport.
They gave me a great deal!!! $6500 off of sticker is what I paid. When I test drove it it have a bad wheel hop in the rear.Saleman said he would get it fixed form me. Two days later I drove it home for the fist time and it still had a rough ride. After 3 visits to the service dept. They decided that the truck was defective and the next day they ordered me a 2004 Bright red XLT SCAB with the 5.5 box. By the way it was at the same cost to me as the 2003.
I am getting a 2004 at the cost with the rebates and deals.
Sticker of the truck is over 29,00 and I am paying 22,500.
A lifetime of getting screwed at the dealer has paid off!!!!
Cant wait!!!!
KEEP ON TRUCKIN!!!
