Question on DORA

I got my DORA faxed to me today.

I was reading the infor XCR440SP posted (thanks a lot, very useful) and have some questions.

Under Priority it is listed as 99, which according to XCR440SP means it will not be built. But It also lists the Order type as A.

When i called the dealer to change an option they had wrong, I asked about these. He informed me that the 99 was meaningless, as I allready had a schedule date (9/22) and the Order type "A" meant it was being ordered under the A-plan, so it could arrive faster.

Am I being lied to? Does any of this make sense?

incidentally... He did give me a VIN
1FTPW145X4KA92172

I don't know if that will change when the order is corrected (wanted a scab, dealer ordered a screw.)

I believe the VIN would change when the order changed from SCrew to SCab as that is identified within the #.

I'm unsure about the Priority, but mine was input as Priority 10, Order Type A (as I'm also using the A-Plan), which is what my dealer also said... so it could arrive faster. I don't know if it's true or not but here are the dates I've received thus far (all of which were not provided by my dealer, but users on this site):

Order Date: 7/11/2003
Receipt Date: 7/11/2003
Serialize Date: 8/14/2003
Segment Date: 8/15/2003
Sequence Date: 8/20/2003
Blend Date: 8/22/2003
Produced Date: 9/3/03

It says it was serialized (VIN assigned, I think) on 8/14, but my dealer didn't provide me with it until 8/27. During the period of more than a month of waiting from order date (7/11) till the time I received a VIN, I was calling and bugging my dealer at least once a week.

Now I'm just waiting for delivery...

The order can't schudule under a 99. However, I often order under 99 (so this is what the customer's print out shows) and change to lower after verfying options the next day. This is probably what happened. However, Your truck VIN is wrong, you can't change a SuperCrew to a Supercab, once scheduled, you can't change body type (including 4x4 and 4x2), package and I belive wheelbase is also locked in. So your order probably isn't scheduled, or he gave you the wrong order (read the wrong line and gave the info on that SuperCrew instead of your Supercab.

Corrected the mistake, new order has been submitted today, priority 10, Type A. Dealer tells me I will get a copy of DORA tomorrow.

So it cost me a week and a bit, but at least tomorrow I'll know the order is correct.
