04' STX with the 5.4L

I have a question. Can I get an 04 STX with the 5.4L or is the 4.6L the only option? And if the 5.4L is available, can I just walk on a dealer's lot and find an STX model F-150 with the 5.4L, or do I have to have it specially ordered? Just wondering.

Ok, I was using the STX as an example. Could I do the same thing with the XLT model? I think the XLT model is the one I'm going to get. Sorry for the ignorance, as I'm not to familiar with what comes with what in certain models.

STX is only 4.6
XLT you could find on the lot. I just drove one (XLT 5.4L 4X2)that had already been rasied in the front, bigger meats, and rims. A flowmaster exhaust and a color-keyed line-x bed liner. It was wicked and the looks I got during the drive said everything.

Are you talking about a 2004 model? Just checking. If it was, that must have been one helluva ride.

STX is only availible with 4.6L. XL or XLT are your options. XL would be harder to find on lots than XLT with the 5.4L. It really depends on your area, what the market is. It seems as though a lot of the trucks first hitting the lots have the 5.4L.

Ok thanks. I should have no trouble finding a red regular cab 2wd XLT with the 5.4L then. There are two very large volume Ford dealers about 60 miles away from me in Knoxville, TN. Lance Cunningham Ford, and Ted Russell Ford. Surely either one of those two dealers should have the truck I'm looking for.

Regards,
Peace...

Yeah it was an 04 and yeah it was a helluva ride. Even the sales guy was having fun. With that little bit of height in the front and the bigger tires it made that truck look mean. I will try to get a picture this weekend if I can.

Peacemaker, use www.forddirect.com to search those dealer's inventories before you leave the house. Don't want you to waste 2 hours of driving just to find out they have nothing on their lot that you are interested in. If you don't know the ZIP code for that area, use the USPS ZIP locator to find it.

Thanks APT. But I go there every other weekend just to check out the new vehicles, go to the malls, etc, and just basically cruise around. K'ville is a nice place. Thanks for the help though!
