Talking question on aftermarket stuff

Hi, I am waiting for my FX4 ( expecting within 4 weeks ) and have some question.

I am thinking of the followings:

1. LT Sprtscover ( light wt tonneau cover ) or Mountain Top

2. Rhino Linings

3. Head Light Covers ( Style Eyes )

4. Kleen Wheels for 18 inch

5. Venti Visors

Any of the above that you rec or not rec??

TIA

Look at the sticky for availibility of aftermarket products for 2004 F-150.

Rhino liner is a spray in. Not dependent on any particular model. Just make an appointment at your favorite shop Think paint sprayer.

Skip the Kleen Wheels and buy better brake pads if you don't want the dust. Bendix Titanium are a good match, but dunno about product availibility. Heck, maybe Ford figured out how to make a better pad? Well, I doubt it.

Headlight covers and vent visors? Seriously, that style was over 20 years ago. The new clear headlamps are attractive so why cover them? If you smoke and drive in the rain, the window things would be helpful, I guess. I haven't heard of any companies yet that offer them for the new style yet.

The OEM brake pads do leave the wheels really dirty. Truck has been getting washed every 100 miles or so.

Well, what you think of Bug Shield then??? I found the one in Smoked or Silver. I am getting silver FX4. Which do you think would look better on Silver FX4?? Black Shield?? Silver Shield??

Opinions aside, you should do to your truck what you like.

I haven't seen too many 04 F-150's, but based on the current design, I prefer smoked bug shields over those painted the body color. And if you end up with wndow vent covers, then a smoked bug shield would match them.

Another comment: I had a bug shield on my 99 F-150. I was not impressed. It did not prevent bugs from hitting my windshield and it rubbed soem paint becuase it didn't fit well. It saved some of the hood from rock chips, though. For my 03 F-150, I bought some 3M Scotchcal for the rock chips which is almost invisible.

Oh, the reason why I say sto skip the Kleen wheels is to show off your massive brake rotors on the 04 F-150 through the cool 18" FX4 wheels!

Congrats on getting (soon) the new truck.

Thanks!!

Yep, it does make sense.

I guess I hold and wait. I may go with smoke color as you have said ( if I decide to put it on my car )

Again, thanks for your rec.

A friend of mine at a dealership showed my that just today Ford announced to their dealers the various accessories they have available for the the modular overhead rail system!!

Along with being able to purchase additional bins, they're offering the following kits:

1) Dual mini Snake Lights
2) 75 watt DC to AC power converter
3) First Aid Kit
4) Cell Phone and PDA insert
5) CD case
6) Dual sunglasses holder

They also offer several complete packages containing additional bins packaged along with 3 of these products...at a reduced price.

He said the products aren't in the parts catalog yet, but the part numbers and prices can be found in an "Electronic Field Communication".
