wingn8ive, why would you put down such a monster down payment, then finance 13k for 60 months? Using the same numbers you currently have, the monthly payment at 48 mos. is $298.79. Is the extra $60 a month that hard to come by? I dunno, that kind of doesn't make fiscal sense, especially since generally a lower term length will also get you a lower percentage rate, thus you'll end up paying less interest over time.

I did it this way because I wanted to have the lowest possible monthly payment (or the best fit for my means). I'm only going to be paying it for about a year, and will be paying it off next August. The 1/2 % or so wouldn't really make too much of a difference (maybe a few bucks). Although $60 doesn't seem like much, I do actually need it's use elsewhere in the vast expenses of California life.... (married, 1 kid, 1 on the way, 2 dogs & 2 cats)

Two weeks ago I bought a 2003 Bright red XLT sport.
They gave me a great deal!!! When I test drove it it have a bad wheel hop in the rear.Saleman said he would get it fixed form me. Two days later I drove it home for the fist time and it still had a rough ride. After 3 visits to the service dept. They decided that the truck was defective and the next day they ordered me a 2004 Bright red XLT SCAB with the 5.5 box. By the way it was at the same cost to me as the 2003.
I am getting a 2004 at the cost with the rebates and deals.
Sticker of the truck is over 29,00 and I am paying 22,500.
A lifetime of getting screwed at the dealer has paid off!!!!
Cant wait!!!!
KEEP ON TRUCKIN!!!

I have asked myself that qustion also. It all happened because I was making a stink in the service dept. and there just happened to be a rep. fron Ford Motor Co. visiting them that day so she came over and I told her how unhappy I was with the truck. She asked me to give her a few minutes and when she came back she had the salesman that sold me the truck and the G.M. of the dealership. She offered me anything on the lot and if it was more than the MSRP on the truck I owned I woulld have to cover the difference. Well they didnt have anything that I liked so they agreed to order me what I wanted. $1,100 out of my pocket for upgrades. Done Deal!!!
The salesman told me he has never seen anything like this happen in over 10 years.

Go to Ford's website and take the 2004 F150 tour. After you realize how many beneficial changes they have made...that might help you make up your mind.
