4x2 Supercrew Lariat

4-1-03 gave order to dealer
4-3-03 order accepted
4-22-03 vin assigned
7-15-03 build date of 8-26-03 given
8-22-03 build date of 8-25-03 given (but could also mean the week of the 25th)
9- -03 delivery

Kansas City has been shipping all models since 8-18-03. They have been building since 7-21-03.. I hope my truck goes right off the line and for shipment either by rail or truck.

3-23-03 was the 1st day Ford accepted 04 F150 orders. I have found everything about the new F150 from this website. I have known things before the dealer.
I knew when to order, what options to order, pricing, and even changing my order 2 weeks ago to include the Audiophile system the correct way (all from this website). Thanks

Boatman - I know exactly what you mean. I've been lurking on this site since late in June, soaking up information, downloading options and pricing etc. By the time we went to the dealer to price out our new truck I knew far more than the salesman did about what options/colors were available on which trucks. My husband said I should have taught a course on the new trucks so their salesmen didn't look like such idiots. As he said "that's their JOB, isn't it??" And I learned it all right here (maybe the only woman on this site?)

Black Lariat Screw 4x4 (Just like the one in the Ford Pictures)

As of yesterday (8/27)

Ordered: 7/12/03
VIN: ?????
Build:?????
Ship:????

In talking to my dealer he hasn't had ANY of his scheduled.

You guys who have gotten yours built. What was your priority code? I have an 11. Given that a 10 is as high as a dealer can go I thought that was pretty good. Lot production is ordered as a 12 or higher (at least at my dealer). Any thoughts?

And the Survey says....

17 responses so far with order dates

5 with actual build (built?) dates

0 deliveries

Only a few (less than 10?) have reported delivery on all three
web sites I visit.

As I found out from my dealer today when I tried to change my unscheduled order, that my truck is in fact actually scheduled. Just that my dealer didn't have any dates. Only showed it was scheduled. So if you have ordered a truck and haven't heard anything. There's a good chance it is already scheduled but the info has not been released yet to the dealer. I ordered on June 27th.

Define scheduled....???

How can "anything" be scheduled without a date.

That means that everyone else who has pre-ordered is also "scheduled", eventually......

I think this it is quite curious that your dealer suddenly comes up with "scheduled" because you inquired about changing your order. On top of that, they can't produce a date, hmmmm..

That's like saying My FX4 S-Crew is scheduled for delivery, but nobody knows when..... someday.......

Ask your dealer what scheduled means and post his response, it should be worth a chuckle....

If the dealer knows it is scheduled, how can he not know the date?

My impression was that Ford schedules them but doesn't release scheduling info to the dealer until a certain time. By scheduled, she said it meant Ford has a date and also has assigned it a VIN. BUT they haven't informed them of the specifics yet.

I don't know why she would lie about it, because I told her I wanted to switch it up and she was like, "Ok, let's do it then." She tried canceling it so we could order the new one. Now she has to wait until Tuesday to do all this cr@p. When she could have had it done in 5 minutes today. I had everything typed out for her, spec numbers and everything, so it would have been a piece of cake to do.

She obviously knows I don't have to take it. So I don't know why she would lead me the wrong way.

Maybe it's because this will be the 2nd truck you have ordered without a sales agreement or downpayment....

How many times will they let you "special order" your truck and keep them as stock when you change your mind...???

The fact that you are not signing a sales contract gives you every
right to refuse the truck, but now they will have x amount of stock trucks that were special ordered by you!!!

What's wrong with that dealership, allowing folks to special order without any kind of contract, friend or no friend, this is business.

I think it depends on the dealership. I placed my order without a contract OR down payment.
