Unhappy Build Dates

For those of you who have your bulid dates already, when did you order them? I ordered mine in the beginning of July and still don't have a build date. I did order an XLT SuperCrew w/ moonroof, if that has any bearing on it. Just wondering because I don't want to wait until October to get my new ride.

I ordered my Lariat 4x2 w/o a moonroof on 7/11 and don't have a build date, either. I'm in the same boat. This waiting game stinks... at least give us some updates, for cryin' out loud !

Tell me about it. This is irritating. My Explorer is on the blink and I want to trade it in before it goes. If it goes before the new truck gets here, I'm "SCrew-ed" because I'll then have to fix it so I don't get zilch for it. Do you know how long it usually takes from the build date to the date I should receive it? Is it days...? Weeks...?

I would think it would arrive within a couple weeks of receiving a VIN #. So, I'm guessing from the time the build date is confirmed (provided it starts on that day) it would be maybe 3 weeks..? just guessin' though.

No No if you think your explorer is on the blink......well I got news for you buddy.

My 80 Lincoln Conti has more problems that i can stand.

Variable Venturi Carberuator (pos design, causes unexpected fires, big recall in the 80's) which tends to kill/stall my car at unexpected times (at stops or even at traveling 85), harsh idles, kills my car in r or d, misfires frequently, I rarely know my correct fuel amount.

Oil is coming up into the PCV vavle, then getting into the air fliter then in to the carberuator (i disconnected that hose that lead from air to pcv).
Oil leak.
Tranny leak.
Exhaust system is completely shot.
Exterior lighting system is shot (did some surgery and now I have two swtiches one for headlights and front turn signals and anothr swtich for taillights and turn signals (night time use for both))
Balding tires.
Vinyl cracking.
Sound system is faulty from time to time.
Trunk opens manaully even though there is a button for it.
Headlight covers never stay closed after car is turned off.
Antenna doesn't roll down all the way.
Driver window motor is shot.
Passenger side rear seat door panel comes off from time to time.
Locking system is shot.
Power mirrors don't work well.
Suspension is on poor condition.
Battery dies for no apparent reason from time to time.
A/C is shot.
Shifter is incorrect position at all times.
Alternator tends to stop from time to time.
Engine overheats for no reason at low speeds for short period of time.
Noise shield is in poor condition so at high speeds or revs the car can actually hurt the ears producing a lot of bass.
Windshield wipers "stutter".

I'm waiting for the Lincoln to die. I love the car, but I needa new car! I mean all these problems are costly. I can only hope I win the lotto, buy me a couple new cars, and fix up this one to the point of perfection.

Build Dates

I would not expect any Screws to be available for sale until early to mid September at the earliest.

Apocalypse, you sound like you needed a car or two between 1980 and now.

screwbuilder, do you think I'll have it before October? I ordered it in the beginning of July.

I ordered a 4x4 Screw Lariat on 7/23.
It is going to be delayed due to two-tone and the moonroof(had to get that option in order to get permission to order the truck)

Dealer said it would be December with those two options added.

Buster50,

Why is it going to be delayed due to two-tone and moonroof? December is ridiculous! I ordered two-tone and moonroof also, but in an XLT. I sure hope your dealer is dead wrong. This sucks. I'm beginning to wonder if I should have bought an '03. I think they have $5,000 cash back now.

Why did you need to get those options for permission to order the truck? Who's permission did you need? Doesn' t the Lariat come standard w/ two-tone?

Other than ordering a SCrew (on 7/11), I didn't get any options that are noted as causing delays.... but here I am, waiting along with everyone else. I gotta tell ya... I get 1 new vehicle per decade and this is the first time I've had to wait. But then again, I've always bought from the lot.

Anticipation is killing me !

Guigster - Buster50 probably needed the OK from the boss (wife), who wanted the moonroof.

You can get monotone forthe Lariat with:
Arizona Beige, Dark Toreador Red, Aspen Green, Black and White.

You must get Arizona Beige lower paint with:
Bright Red and Medium Wedgewood Blue

Ahh, ok. I was wondering if it was the wife or posibly a dishonest dealer tryinig to give it to him up the rear. December can't be right. That just sounds way too off.
