I have my o4 lariat on order (6 1/2 ft bed). I am already looking for accessories. I want an aluminum tool chest that doesn't go over the side rails and goes all the way down to the floor with a black finish. Does anyone know were I could find one of these? I don't know the exact dimensions of the bed yet but I think these type of tool boxes are a pretty universal fit. Thanks.

I don't know about the fit of a tool box. Doesn't the new 150 have a deeper box? If so, finding a tool box that goes all the way down to the floor, might be specific to the 04 150. Just my $.02.

 

I have a 2003, 6 1/2' bed . I have a plastic box by Delta (had the same in my earlier F150) . Inside dimensions 18x18x48". Had it in my previous truck for 7 years , very happy with it .On the bed liner it fits flush with the rails but the 2004 is supposted to be higher rails. I installed it by putting three 1/4" bolts through the headboard, fastened to the board with nuts. They go through the box , and the box just fastened with wing nuts. When I need full use of the bed I can quickly just remove the wing nuts and slide out the box.
