Need help from someone with experience
Okay, here's the deal... I want an FX4 and I love the look of the black interior. BUT, is that going to be so hot that I can't stand it in the summer?? I've never had black leather before so I don't know what to expect. Plus I'm not even for sure if I have a choice. I don't think tan is an option, but I don't want tan anyway. I asked a question about the grey (meduim flint) color in another thread, but was confused by the responses I got. It sounded like medium flint is just an accent color when you get the black leather in the FX4... so I guess my questions are as follows:
1. Is there another color leather (besides black) to choose from in the FX4? If so, what are they?
2. Will I burn my A$$ off if I have black leather interior?
3. What if I tint the window 18%-5% will that help with the heat?
4. Is medium flint light grey or dark grey?
Anybody know??

I still haven't figured out the flint vs black interior deal. As far as I can figure the FX4 has black interior. The Flint may be, like you said, accents in the seats. I haven't found any way yet to confirm that. Anyway I wanted black, so it hasn't been an issue for me. I had a Porsche with black leather seats and tinted windows. With the top up I didn't notice any difference in the actual surface temp. Now with the top down, that's another story. Wow!
But any leather regardless of color is gonna get hot in the sun. I wouldn't let temp. make an issue of its self. Go for the sunroof. When you get in turn the AC to high open the roof a little to let out the heat, and you're cool in no time.

I had black leather on my 98 cobra as long as you take a few precautions in the summer it is not bad. As long as it hasn't been sitting with the sun directly on the seats all day and you have shorts on! Other than that no problems for me. If legal, you could have a nice tint put on that could diffuse some of the sun, etc. If I wanted black I would not let that bother me too much.
Leather & no problems-
All that stuff about butt stickign to the seat, sweating, etc... I've experienced NONE of that- and I live in Plano/North Dallas, TX.
90 - 105 degree days, no problems.
If I had to say anything, I'd say it seems like it takes longer for my truck to heat-up inteh winter-time, due to all the leather, compared to my cloth XLT S'Crew.
Truck's black, seats are charcoal, and I have 20% over Ford Privacy on rear windows, and 35% on the fronts. No problems with leather in the Expy.
