Why Did Production Stop ?

What's the deal? Did they run into supply problems? ... or quality issues? ... ???

This from BLUE OVAL NEWS :

"The 2004 F150 Will Begin Shipping In Late August As Ford Is Withholding All Models For Quality Assurance. The Following Models Are NOT Being Built Until Further Notice: All 2004 F150s With 133" Wheel Bases, Flaresides, Models With Dual Paint Schemes, SuperCrews With Moonroofs And SuperCrews With Running Boards."

I WANT MY TRUCK !

Production hasn't stopped... they simply aren't shipping them.

Long story short, they want to make sure that the quality is where it HAS TO BE before they ship them.

Hence, the Explorer shinanagan when the new body style rolled off the lines here in Louisville... that was a HUGE mess.

I don't think production stopped... I think they just haven't started building the SuperCrews yet.... could be wrong, but that's what I thought was going on. I want an FX4 SCrew... so I'm interested too!

Like was mentioned, this time I think Ford is trying harder then ever to avoid any quality issues, hopefully they are also insuring not to have issues like the 97 4.2's with the gasket problems...
